ASOS hauling for A/W

As much as I dislike the weather getting colder and the days getting shorter, I do love autumn/winter for one reason and one reason only; fashion! The heeled boots, the layers, the coats, the accessories. There's so much goodness. But naturally it does require some shopping to fill in those wardrobe gaps. Thankfully, ASOS recently had a 25% off that code that made it all the easier. Keep reading to check out what I got.

My trouser collection desperately needed updating because loads of them were years old, half no longer fit, and many of them just weren't my style anymore. So after a big sort out, I was on a trouser spree. My current obsession is high quality wide leg trousers because they look super smart but they're basically like wearing pyjamas, comfort wise. I already have a pair by Bershka that I love so I figured these were a pretty safe bet and I just love the way they fit. In fact, this whole outfit fit like a glove; this Pieces top will definitely be a staple in my wardrobe. The only thing that didn't fit perfectly was the coat, as it was mostly sold out so I risked a large. It's a little bigger than I would like but it's not ridiculously oversized, so given how beautiful the fabric and quality is, I decided to keep it.

These jeans were an easy buy, as I already have this style in two other colours and I'm obsessed with them. The fit is just unreal and I love the slightly cropped length and it shows shoes off nicely. Obviously I didn't think two colours were enough though, so I added a washed pair to my wardrobe for that nineties vibe. I also picked up this layered blouse as I've recently fallen in love with River Island clothes again and while I wouldn't have paid £38 for it, £24 and a discount code was too good to turn down.

I feel like high quality white tops are a bit of a catch 22; they're an absolute essential and yet they're weirdly hard to come by (for a reasonable price that is). If they aren't see through, they start to discolour after 5 minutes or they look cheap and nasty. But I hit the jackpot with this one. It's the loveliest ribbed knit and I really like the open back. I wasn't sure about the puff sleeves at first but they really grew on me. I also wasn't a hundred percent on the pinstripe of these trousers when I first tried them on. But the fit is such a dream that I figured I'd successfully avoid looking like a 90s office worker in them. A gorgeous pair of shoes later and I think I managed it.

We all love a good jeans-and-a-nice-top outfit don't we? And this one is the pinnacle of Autumn essentials. I don't think you can ever have too many pairs of black skinny jeans (mostly because they fade in the wash after like a month) and this DTT pair were a great choice. I fell in love with this brand after buying a paid of their wide leg styles, and the skinnies didn't disappoint either. I paired them with this volume sleeve top (I'm still loving the statement sleeve trend) and then added beige sock boots. I'm obsessed with the quality of these and just know I'll be wearing them all season - the colour is just the perfect neutral. Another staple I've been on the hunt for for ages is a cream leather jacket. I always struggle with buying leather jackets as I like them to be super fitted and so many of them are either oversized or just loose. But I find that Miss Selfridge is normally a winner for them. I especially love that the hardware on this one is gold rather than silver, as I'm a gold girl through and through (heart of gold included).
