Come shop with me

Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm generally an online girl. My transactions with ASOS and Shein make up the majority share of my online banking transactions and I see my Hermes delivery woman basically every day. But a girly shopping day has always been a favourite pastime of mine and having not gone on one since before Christmas, it was about time for another! So me and Laura headed into town for a lovely day of browsing, gossiping and eating the most amazing tapas lunch. And it was actually pretty productive in terms of purchasing too! So I thought I'd share what I got...

We started with Primark since that's where the bulk of our time was spent. So let's start with the homeware bits I got from there. I'm on a bit of a house refresh mission at the moment so I was excited to find some accessories that would complement perfectly. I got this soap dispenser for my bathroom for only £4, as well as this burnt orange lantern which will match my living room perfectly; it was also £4 down from £7! And I got a couple of bath bombs because you can't go wrong with them for a £1 or so.

I know it's perhaps a tiny bit early to be buying summery bits but I just couldn't resist these sliders. I love the square toe and the gold buckle and I think they look super chic and a lot more expensive than the £8 they were.

I can never go in Primark without stocking up on new knickers and while in the underwear section, I couldn't resist this little mesh two-piece set. It was only £5 and I'm loving the more loungewear style.

This one was a purchase I didn't find until I was on the way to the till so it was somewhat of a last-minute impulse buy. And I'm so glad I got it! I'd describe it as somewhere between a cardigan and a shacket and will work just as well done up as it will worn open. The fabric is like a thick shiny knit and it feels really great quality. It certainly doesn't look like it was only £15 from Primark! I got a size 10-12 (my normal size) and it's actually a bit on the big side but I think I can get away with it.

I know what I said about summer bits but apparently I just couldn't stop myself! These shorts were only £5 and I love them because I'm really wanting to get more neutral staples into my wardrobe at the moment. These will go with anything and everything and they're a lovely thin fabric that will keep you nice and cool on holiday.

I suppose Primark and Shein are quite comparable on most of their items but an area where Shein seriously falls short are their coats and jackets. While they're still a bargain, they're normally pretty low on quality (unlined, thin fabric etc). Luckily, Primark has no such problem! So I'm always eager to see what coats and jackets they have in stock. Since we're going into Spring, the options were limited but I did still manage to pick up this lovely lilac blazer-esque coat. I can't wait to wear this over the coming months and it was a pretty little bargain at £23.

Despite the fact that my jewellery collection gets more and more insane by the day, I still can't stop, won't stop. I managed to restrain myself to just this pack of rings; I love the pastel colours and think these will be so cute in Spring and Summer.

Primarks beauty section seems to be getting better and better so I couldn't resist picking up a few bits, especially since I've heard the lipsticks are really good and I wanted to try them. I went with a matte lipstick in the shade 'velvet touch' (£1.50), a matte liquid lipstick in the shade 'romance' (£2 down from £2.50), a cuticle oil pen (£1) and a mini perfume spray (£2) that I thought would be ideal for keeping in my handbag.

Still in the beauty section, I also got a delightfully random assortment of bits. I got this pump dispenser (80p) to make it easier to get acetone on the foil wraps when I do my nails, a scalp massager (£2) and scalp scrub (£3) to prevent product build-up and a moisturiser with SPF 30 (£4). I'm excited to try all these things!

Ah look at that, the perfect opportunity to transition from one shop to another! I got a couple of basic vests (one more basic than the other). I got this nude strappy cami from primark (£1.80) as a perfect base layer for tops that are a bit sheer, and then this thicker racer-style green top from new look (£5.99). I'm obsessed with this colour (as most people are right now) and think this will look really cool with leather pants and green heels (once I put the right bra on with it, of course).

Next up was H&M and rather than looking for more clothes, this time I was firmly fixed on the homeware section. I was looking for a couple of decor pieces to go on the side table next to my front door and went with these matching candlestick holders; one of the bigger and one of the smaller. The bigger one was £12.99 and the smaller was only £8.99 so both very reasonable I'd say.

The last thing I got was this black and white candle. It has a sandlewood scent and I love that even after the candle is gone, the jar will still be really pretty. And for only £12.99, it was the perfect finishing touch for my table!
