Orange is the new black

Hello and welcome to my outfit photo spot 3.0! I mean technically, it's 4.0 as back in the (very) early days I started out taking photos in my garden, before swapping to indoors from then on. It's worked out quite well that my house transformation blog post was ready just as I ran out of outfit photos from my old house, so you'll find me in my new home from here on in! And you'll find me in ensembles like this one, as we begin the transition period from winter to spring. Because what better transitional item can you get than the shacket? Halfway between a shirt and a jacket, I've noticed that not all shackets are born equal. Some are jackets that look like shirts and others are shirts that act as jackets. This one falls into the latter camp, as it's essentially a thick, cosy shirt that works perfectly when layered. Most shackets are checked and I love that this one is neutral with a splash of orange running through it. Of course, I had just the top to go under it; this c'est la vie slogan number. When I bought this orange top, I liked that it was something I didn't have but knew it would be hard to style without looking like a kids club organiser. So I went with a high fashion approach to balance it out. Gucci dupe tights and black tailored shorts, with the outfit finished by black strappy open boots.
