The last supper

It's no secret that I love eating out. So naturally, I'm sad that restaurants are shut again for atleast a month (I say at least because I have no faith in the time lines we're told at this point). But we enjoyed our opportunities to eat out until the last second and squeezed one last date night out in on Wednesday night before we were forced to go cold turkey again!

Even though I've been going more casual on recent date nights, I thought it only right that I dress up this time! I chose this black and white leopard skirt with frilled detailing (I love the way it goes up on one side) and then added a splash of cobalt with this padded shoulder top and strappy heels. This top was the perfect canvas for a nice statement necklace so I added this gatsby-style one that I've literally had for years.

The restaurant we were heading to was one that I was really excited about because normally when we go out, the places are new to Ollie but I've tried them before. This one was brand new for both of us though, as well as everyone else in there probably because they only opened a month ago. I spotted Casa because they were advertising quite a lot on facebook/instagram and while the food looked amazing, one look at the menu was enough to sell me as they had alllllll my favourites. Lobster ravioli, beer carpaccio, parma pizza, baked sea bass. I love an Italian restaurant that stays away from the basic bitch dishes like spaghetti bolognese and carbonara and instead offers something a little more exciting. Plus, it's an independent, so it's always nice to support those! Despite so many amazing sounding options (we had to tell the waiter we needed a few more minutes like 3 times), we eventually settled on sharing a goat's cheese starter and then monkfish pasta and beef medallions in peppercorn sauce with rocket and parmesan for mains. The food was incredible, the service was really good (super friendly staff), the decor was super pretty and the price was about what I'd expect for an upmarket Italian in the city centre. 10/10 would recommend.

And then life comes at you fast because by Friday, we were back to our at-home date nights (season 2, episode 1). Something good to come out of the first lockdown though is that you can get pretty much any restaurant food as takeaway now; gone are the days of chinese, indian or pizza. And we kicked the weekend off with one of our favourite cuisines - tapas! Collected from Bar Iberico, their takeaway service is cutely named Bar Iberigo and the food was as incredible as it always is in their restaurant. Fiery chicken, pork belly skewers, ham croquettes, calamari, swordfish skewers and patatas bravas - a winning menu whether it's ordered out or enjoyed at home!
