Legs for days
When these shorts first arrived as part of one my bursting-at-the-seams shein orders, I was really disappointed to find that they didn't fit me very well. While I loved the length and fit on the legs, the waist was massive and even went beyond the help of a belt. I mean, I did order them in a large (guide size is 12/14) and I'm a size 10, but I don't think there's anything worse than blood-supply-cutting denim and so I tend to size up in all jeans, denim shorts and denim skirts. Obviously on this occasion, I'd taken it too far but I managed to find a handy hack online that secured these shorts their place in my heart (and my wardrobe, which is basically the same thing). By hooking the first belt loop over the button before doing it up, you can massively cinch in the waist, while still maintaining their look. Another hack I saw involved tying a shoelace or something similar around the back to pull it in but obviously you can see something like that. This method means the shorts look normal, your hips look big and your waist looks tiny! And thanks to the length and style of the shorts, they made me look nice and leggy too! I don't think you can beat anything leg-elongating (even though I'm 5'8 so have fairly long legs already) and so I decided to build on this with the ultimate leg-lengthening shoes; sock boots. Mine were from public desire a while ago but you can get styles like this everywhere and they're honestly so comfy, despite actually having quite a high heel. I finished the look with a dark floral shirt because who said florals were only for spring?
