Style the sunshine
I am SO overdue on one of these kinds of blog posts! It's been forever since I did a style diary but the sunny weather got me all inspired to style up this sunny yellow bodysuit! It's from pretty little thing and I love the slinky fabric. Obviously I thought I'd tailor the post to the unprecedented times we're in, so you won't see a "girls night out" outfit here - lockdown approved circumstances only! Well, with you guys in mind (I'm shielded so it's still only home or garden outfits for me for the time being). Side note; I had a malfunction with my camera memory card so shot these on my iPhone instead and I actually think I prefer them?
Picnic in the park for up to 6 people
For the first time in forever, we've actually been having a pretty hot spring and summer so far. Which is probably just as well because I think if we were all stuck inside with constant rain then we'd all have gone insane. So now that picnics of mixed households are allowed, you'll probably be looking for an outfit for the occasion! I styled the bodysuit with a black bandeau underneath (a black and white version of these should be an essential in every girls wardrobe) and then with denim shorts. I've had this missguided pair since forever (like literally since the old missguided logo I think, for those who remember) and in truth, they're a bit too short for what I'd wear now. Now I'm the big ripe old age of 24, I can't exactly still be walking around in batty riders! But not to worry, I've just made a big fat shein haul and there's a couple of more sensible length denim shorts on there. I finished the outfit with chain print headband scarf and then black gucci dupe sandals which are a recent shein purchase that I simply adore.
A shopping trip to non-essential shops
Of all the things that lockdown has made me miss, queuing up in a sweaty primark store is not one of them. I do all my shopping online anyway, even for all my furniture for my house despite my mum insisting you can't possibly buy a sofa without sitting on it first. But, I do know that some of you love the shops so I thought I'd put together an outfit for it! This time, I layered a white bandeau under the bodysuit and then added a black A-line skirt with J'adore belt. You can't shop without a handbag (my poor handbag collection hasn't seen the light of day in way too long) and this little Valentino number perfectly ties together the rest of the outfit! Another shopping essential? Comfy shoes! Anyone who's ever read any of my holiday blog posts will realise that my espadrilles are my most trusty footwear and I've recently replaced them for a shiny new pair (since the old ones were a bit past it). These ones were £16 from ASOS and I can confirm they're super comfy. And the last shopping trip essential is one not pictured here but it's the most important - a face mask!
At-home date night
Now this is one that I have actually been outfit planning for (as you should've seen by now). Although you may not be able to have date night in a pub, bar or restaurant just yet, there's nothing to stop you getting all dressed up for a fancy dinner, some quality time and lots of drinks at home! The bodysuit was perfect for this occasion too but instead of a modest covering underneath it, I went with a strappy mesh bra with tropical embroidery. I kept to the criss-cross mesh theme with this black midi skirt and then finished with nude court heels.
