Dine in date night
We're now onto lockdown date night week 8 and it was finally time for one of my OG favourite palettes to shine: the Lorac pro palette. While everyone was loving on the Urban Decay naked palettes, Lorac was where it was at for me - beautiful nudes, buttery shimmers and half-and-half mattes, this really is the ultimate essential. And with an outfit in mind, I wanted a golden goddess eye makeup look to go with it. Starting with taupe through my crease, I built the colour with sable which is a lovely warm brown. I added a little espresso to darken the corners and then did a symmetrical shimmer using gold on the outer and inner parts of each eye lid and then nude in the centre. For the first time in ages, I also did loose curls in my hair using my tongs (rather than my straighteners, which produce a bouncier curl).
Something I felt like my wardrobe was missing was a nice pair of white tailored trousers and so I purchased a pair on my latest shein haul. I always rave about how much I love shein and yet fast fashion brands aren't without their duff purchases. These trousers fit into that on only one factor; opaqueness. They're a gorgeous fit, I love the belt and the fabric is lovely - but it's waaaay see through. They were the only thing out of the haul that I didn't love so I didn't see it worth my time to return them and ended up keeping them. Who could've ever predicted that I would get my wear out of them after all, thanks to only wearing them in the house and not exactly caring if my boyfriend could see through my trousers. I went with a brown and white outfit by pairing the trousers with this chocolate brown slinky bardot top and then brown court heels.
We've done a lot of exciting cuisines on our weekly date nights but this time we went with something a little more low key, and did one of the Tesco dine-in-for-2 deals. Steak and chips is always a classic and these steaks were amazing with the peppercorn butter. However, the pudding was by far the best bit! These passionfruit and raspberry tarts went perfectly with some raspberry sorbet we had in the freezer and the whole lot went down great with a bottle of red.
Not only did we have a lovely date night, but a lovely weekend on the whole. I'm determined to come out of lockdown looking like I've just come back from the holiday that none of us will be going on this summer! But I also risk coming out of it a stone heavier if I keep making amazing treats. These lotus biscoff truffles were a must-make since I saw them on a facebook video and they were super simple! 100g of blitzed up lotus biscuits, combined with a big spoon of lotus biscoff spread and a big spoon of cream cheese. Mix up, roll into balls and dip in 120g of white chocolate and a big spoon of biscoff spread (both melted). Sprinkle with more biscoff crumbs and voila!
