Date night in a dash

You know the drill by now; me and Ollie are doing weekly date nights while lockdown continues to give us something to look forward to each week and to give me an excuse to get all glammed up. Although this week reminded me more of my typical night out (ahh remember those?), as instead of a leisurely getting ready session and faffing around to my hearts content, I was in a mega rush thanks to my DIY gel nails taking me 2 hours (more on that in a future blog post). So I was looking for a quick makeup look and dedicated this week's to the Juvia's Place Douce palette. I started with berry mousse through my crease and then started to build crepes over it. Side note: there are 2 shades in the palette named berry mousse and custard that feel as though they should be the other way round (centre and bottom left corner). Anyway, then I added tart over my lid using my fingertip and it's an amazing shade that basically transforms - white in the palette, gold/pink on the finger and almost lilac on the eyes. I darkened the look by adding chocolat in the corners and then with liner, lashes and gloss - we were done!

So I've gone with a dress, a skirt and then trousers so this week's date night was the turn of the playsuit. This little number was a primark bargain ages ago and I haven't worn it in forever - in fact I'd almost forgotten about it. But I still really love it, especially the asymmetric style and how comfy it is. Obviously it's a bit plain on it's own so I jazzed things up a bit with snakeskin shoe-boot heels.

Apparently with these weekly date nights, we've somehow ended up with an Around the world in 80 days theme and are doing a different cuisine each week. This time was time for a big fat Chinese and although it's not exactly elegant date night food (not in the quantities we ordered at least), it definitely hit the spot. On the menu was special chow mein, salt and pepper chicken, salt and pepper chips, sweet and sour chicken balls, special fried rice and crispy duck pancakes. Have you ever seen such a beautiful crammed-full-table of food? I doubt it.
