Patchwork neutrals

At the start of January when I got rid of my Christmassy red and gold glitter manicure, I swung completely the opposite way and went with each nail in a different neutral shade. And apparently I've done the same with my wardrobe at the moment too as there wasn't a dash of colour in sight the other day. Well, maybe there was a dash, but I'll get onto that in a minute. I love a skirt-black-tights-and-heeled-boots outfit in winter because they're just so easy and low maintenance. They look dressy enough (and casual enough, simultaneously) that they're good for work or play, you can wear heels without needing bare feet and your legs are warm. What more could you want? This patchwork neutral suede skirt is a little on the short side but I love the fit and the fabric; it was a little shein bargain. Because of the patchwork style though, it can be tricky to pair things with. So I kept it really simple and went down the less-is-more route; white roll neck top (new look), black cardigan (ASOS) and black heeled boots (new look). And because I can't do without atleast a small dash of colour, I finished with small silver hoop earrings and red lipstick. Also sidenote: can we please appreciate the lighting in my new blog photo spot since I got new lightbulbs?
