Friends who spa together, stay together

Slap on the wrist for me as I have been a terrible blogger lately (that is, I basically haven't been blogging). And although it may be a week late, I thought my latest spa day was still worth writing about! I like to go on spa days kind of regularly (hard life and all that) and always turn to wowcher when I want to book one. Some spas (like eden hall) are just so overpriced and I've found that wowcher has some lovely ones for an absolute bargain. This time, I returned to the Bannatyne spa (in Mansfield), where I've previously been with my mum, but this time it was me and the girls. The spa day ended up as £57 each and we got so much included!

It wasn't exactly an early start for us (I think we finally got there at about 2pm) but we did make it in perfect time to begin with lunch (which was included). They had seemingly run out of everything on the menu so the food we actually got was a bit of a random mish-mash but it was still very nice! For example, I was meant to have sweet chilli chicken skewers and I ended up with buttermilk fried chicken and pesto. Not exactly what it says on the tin, but very nice all the same.

Then it was time to start relaxing! A spa day isn't complete without a fluffy white robe so although it was an extra £6 to hire them, we figured it was worth it. Plus, you do get to keep the tote bag and the flip flops!

Our treatment bookings were staggered by half an hour so while Staci and little Katie headed off to start theirs, me and Katie went to the relaxation room to do exactly that. The room is made up of mood lighting, heated loungers and water beds, which are a bit strange but very comfy. You certainly wouldn't shock me if you told me you felt seasick after lying on one!

Then it was our turn for the pampering! To say the whole spa day was only £57 each, we all got an hour of treatments included which I thought was pretty good! It was a back and shoulder massage, followed by a leg massage (never had one before - was surprisingly good), followed by a facial and then finished up with a scalp massage. It's safe to say that all my stresses from the week before were gone, as were any future stresses that might come at me over the next few weeks. They also had a really good promo on Elemis products but I'm mega lazy with my skincare at home so I knew they'd go to waste if I bought any.

Then we all reunited, feeling very untense and destressed but also in need of some pool time. The pool was pretty a decent size and the jacuzzi was massive so after a few races in the pool (we may pretend to be classy ladies but we're losers at heart), we sat bubbling away until we were ready to go home and wash the massage oil out of our hair. Spa days may be luxurious but they sure aren't glamorous!

  1. All types of spas should have a relaxed and positive atmosphere, and be pleasing to the senses - the spa should look good, smell good, and it should be peaceful and comfortable. Today, wellness tends to be the focus in the spa industry. spa
