Trampolining, training dragons and getting trollied

Unlike the last time me and Katie went out together, this Friday was actually planned. For context, the Saturday before, we spontaneously decided to go out at half 11 at night. Anyway, I went with an oldie-but-goodie for my outfit. For someone who's highly obsessed with buying new clothes, I have totally never bought into the outfit repeating stigma. If I buy something I love, you best believe that I'm wearing it again and again and again. Like this skirt for example; I wore it on one of my first ever legal nights out and now I'm nearly 23 and it's still a favourite! On this occasion, I wore it with white milkmaid top, black sock boots and statement berry lipstick (Lyin' king by Colourpop). In terms of the actual night out, I can't say I remember it entirely. I do know I bought a new revs card (£2, get yourself one; it pays for itself after one round) and I do know we ended up in Bodega (because of the jesus loves you stamp) but it gets a blurry in between. That's usually a sign of a pretty good night though...

I did not feel fresh on Saturday morning, having slept in my glasses all night (so my face seriously hurt). In fact, I'm pretty sure I was still drunk when I went out in the morning. But there was no time to recover because my dad, like me, likes to stretch his birthday celebrations out and we had a whole weekend of fun scheduled. We were going for an order-loads-and-share-it meal at O'Neills, which is not exactly a fancy restaurant so I decided to glam-it-down for once. This white crop top is a recent addition from SheIn but not one that it's been warm enough to wear so far. It's a really nice cotton fabric and I'm obsessed with anything with wide or fluted sleeves, so it fits that bill well. It is pretty short (ends just below my bra) so I don't know how well it will work on its own but under a dress, it was perfect. This dress is another recent buy and is a primark bargain. I finished with trainers and gucci bag and went for understated makeup in fluffy lashes and a glossy red lip.

So you know how I said my dad drags his birthday out? Well Sunday was round 3 and we had a full-on day of family fun planned. The first thing on the agenda was a morning at the Red Kangaroo trampoline park, which was literally so much fun. They have a big expanse of trampolines, plus a basketball bit, dodgeball bit, "dance mat" (thing on the wall that you bounce to hit), ninja warrior course, airbag jump, tightrope beam, gladiator battle beam and total wipe out swiper. The ninja warrior course was way too hard because it involved too much upper body strength, but I LOVED the total wipeout thing. You were meant to tuck jump over the low one (which apparently I didn't do properly because I was flicking my legs out to the side) and then duck under the high one and it was actually easier than I thought but the thing that gets you is the exhaustion! It was so tiring and so it was pretty impressive that my now-51-year-old dad managed to outlast me and Aidan. For only £10 for an hour, I would highly recommend a visit, whether you're a child or adult.

Then we headed off for another lovely meal at the trusty Chiquitos, which is even better on a Sunday because it's 2-for-1 on everything, thanks to meerkat meals. Obviously the food was lovely, as were the multiple cocktails that I had, and we finished off the day by going to the cinema to see How to Train your Dragon 3. At 21, 22, 50 and 51, you'd think we'd be too old for a kid's film but we loved the first two so had to see it and it was actually so good! All in all, a very lovely weekend.
