Ways to wear: 101 dalmatians

If you scroll through your Instagram feed or walk down your nearest high street, you'd be forgiven for thinking that there's some sort of constant safari-themed carnival going on. Animal print has been huge this season and girls everywhere are decking themselves out in leopard print, snakeskin, tiger stripes, cow print; pretty much any animal goes. And while I've built my winter wardrobe up with plenty of animal options, it's Dalmatian print that I'm putting in the spotlight this time, to show how wearable a Dalmatian print shirt is! Plus, if you haven't got one yet then you're bound to get one super cheap at the moment, given how desperate the shops are to get people buying stuff (I'm getting '50% off everything' emails every other day).

If you're feeling casual

You can get these shirts everywhere but my particular one was from boohoo and it's super oversized. So the easiest way to wear it is in a casual outfit. Obviously the definition of casual changes from person to person but this outfit is what casual looks like to me. I tucked the shirt into a pair of black skinny jeans and then livened up the black-and-white look with some splashes of red; red court heels and red gucci belt. Obviously I finished with the queen of all accessories; a red lipstick. Of course, casual to you may mean flat shoes but this outfit would look just as good with some white or black trainers!

If you're feeling dressy

The great thing about a shirt is that it's so easy to change the degree to which you dress it up. Here, I rolled up the sleeves, did the buttons up to the top, tucked it into some super bright belted shorts (I love this shade of green) and then added some statement stiletto heels that matched perfectly. But it's easy to change it up by unbuttoning it and adding a little bralet underneath, and swapping the heels for some heeled sock boots. Still dressy but a different vibe, and so easy to get from A to B. Sidenote: dressy to me would always usually entail adding lipstick so you'll have to excuse the fact I haven't added any here, especially since my lips are far from naturally rosy and I'm verging on looking ill in these pictures.

If you're feeling bold

If you're someone who likes to take fashion risks and pave the way to be followed (rather than follow others) then are you brave enough to rock double Dalmatian? I wasn't sure initially if pairing my two Dalmatian items together would work but I actually really like the two together, especially since the black and white is inverted from the shirt to the shoes. I think if there was a lot of colour involved then it would look too busy but seeing as it's monochrome, I think you can get away with it! I didn't want to make too much of a statement in any out-there colours so I added a berry pencil skirt and wore the shirt open and tied at the waist, with a black bralet underneath.
