Ways to wear: the wild side

So it's no secret that leopard print is big this season and if you haven't bought yourself something yet then seriously where have you been? I got this skirt for my Milan trip in September as it's literally the perfect for inbetween seasons. Floaty enough to be fun and feminine but long enough to be modest and not-too-cold, it was an absolute bargain from SheIn (my latest favourite shop). And it works for every occasion!

For casual

Whether it be a trip to the shops, a day time lunch date or a day at work (a casual, laid back office like mine anyway) this kind of outfit is a universally great casual look. I paired the skirt with long sleeve black top and black heeled boots. I like my versions of both of these because they both have a little something extra to them; the top with the crossover straps and the boots with the printed acrylic heel. Also, excuse the fact that I look like Casper the friendly ghost in these photos, not really sure why I'm looking so anaemic?

For evening

I specify evening because like you've probably noticed from my instagram and get-ready-with-me blog posts, I wear things that are decidedly shorter for nights out. But for a few cocktails or a nice meal, this skirt would work perfectly. I almost went with black top and black heels again (probably because it's my default setting) but I thought I'd mix it up a little. Obviously in Autumn, long sleeves are still a good idea for whatever you're doing so I wore white long sleeved top and added white mule heels. When I wore these out with my friends, they were asking if they slipped off a lot but they actually don't! They're very comfortable and practical - how unlike me, and most of the shoes in my wardrobe!

For winter

The awkward thing about transitional clothing is getting them to do just that; transition successfully from one season to the next. And yet this skirt strikes again. As the weather starts to get colder, I'll wear it with something like this; heeled boots and a jumper. Obviously you can't wear a jumper tucked in though so I borrowed a little trick from Lydia (Fashion In Flux blog/instagram) where you tuck it up into your bra strap instead. Worked a treat! The thing I like about leopard print as well is that you can basically add any statement colour that you want and it will match thanks to the neutral tones. So this time, I chose red (my colour of the moment) and added black jumper with red slogan and then red heeled boots too. I didn't add it in the photos but a red lip never goes a miss either!
