Can't stop me now

I have had the most exciting weekend, although my bank account wouldn't necessarily think it was so great. Me and Sophia have been talking for ages about booking a city break or holiday for next year and after considering a few places, we decided on Prague. I've wanted to go to Prague for ages now and it'll be a new country, as well as a new city so I'm really excited. We were going to go in January but weirdly there didn't seem to be any flights so we're now going at the end of February and the flight times were really good! We're doing a friday-monday trip and the flights there are in the morning and in the evening on the way back so we get pretty much the 4 full days to enjoy it. The flights were £130 return with Jet2 and then we headed to booking.com to decide on a hotel. Given that neither of us have ever been to Prague, we spent a very long time opening every single hotel to see which ones were central and where the best spot to be was, but we eventually decided on the InterContinental. Let's be honest, we were largely won over by the fact it's got a lovely looking pool! But it was also a pretty good price at £130 each for the 3 night stay and looks like it's close to everything (although I'll have to report on that properly once I've been!)

We were obviously booking the holiday while getting through a bottle of wine (the way in which all good holidays are booked) and so then we headed out in to town to celebrate us booking it, as well as the fact that it was Friday. You know I'm always one to be dressed super subtly (naht) so I went with a nice neutral outfit; bright green tailored shorts with dalmation print shirt. These shorts are another of my bargain SheIn buys and yet another purchase that I was really happy with, while the shirt is boohoo and needed some serious tucking in (it's very oversized) but I think wearing it open with a bralet fixed that issue. I added my new favourite night out heels (ebay bargains), queen bee bag and dark berry lipstick. Then we headed out for cocktails! We started at Slug & Lettuce (because every hour is happy hour) and then went to Alto for some considerably-more-expensive drinks. And we got the shots in too (of course).

I was feeling pretty hungover when I woke up on Saturday but there was no time to wallow because me, mum, dad and grandma were heading up to Leeds to see my brother, Aidan! I started from the bottom up with this outfit because I knew I wanted to wear these new snake print ankle boots and decided to pair them with brown suede skirt and white crochet top. I added a bit more brown with this trench coat (and hilariously looked like I was wearing nothing underneath it when I did it up) and finished with Class lipstick by Revolution. Obviously we started at the pub, and found a really cute one covered in fairy lights just near the restaurant we were booked in at. Hair of the dog certainly works because my double blood orange gin perked me up a lot and then we headed to dinner at Estabulo. When it was still open, Tropeiro was one of my favourite restaurants in Nottingham and I was gutted when it shut down so when picking a restaurant for Leeds, I couldn't resist a Brazilian one. And it was even better than Tropeiro had been! Their salad and side bar was incredible and they had so many different options, and the meat that they bring round fresh off the grill was all amazing. I managed to try a little bit of everything before I swiftly dropped in to a food coma and napped the whole drive back home!

Something else that was happening in the day time on Saturday was that I was booking another holiday! Me and little Katie have been planning our America trip for next year for absolutely ages and initially, I wanted to go to New Orleans (or Chicago) and she wanted to go to Las Vegas so we compromised and decided to do both! It's not the easiest twin centre holiday to plan because most travel companies pair Vegas with LA, San Francisco or even New York, while New Orleans is put together with Memphis and Nashville as part of a deep south tour. So there were only a handful of companies I found that did the two places we wanted (and that was after extensive research) and with me and both Katie's finally putting a date on when we were booking (we decided to do it this payday, at the end of the month), I thought I should get it priced up. We were pretty flexible in our dates (no kids or school holidays to worry about is great) and September seemed the cheapest option, with our quote for 3 nights in New Orleans and 4 nights in Vegas plus international and internal flights coming back at £998 from The Internet Traveller. However, another company I had asked were working on 4 nights in each place so I asked them to check that and it came back as £1,020 each with only a £130 deposit so we decided to book it! The guy I was speaking to said that he thought prices would go up pretty significantly by the end of the month so we didn't want to risk waiting, considering how amazing the trip is. That's based on 3 people sharing the rooms but if it had been 2 people sharing, it still would've only been £1,080 each, so a really great price. The flights are all at really great times too, with only 1 hour stopovers (it seems that nowhere flies directly to New Orleans) and the hotels are a Crowne Plaza in the French Quarter (the main part of New Orleans) and the famous Bellagio in Vegas with all the dancing fountains. Plus that price includes some sort of jazz cruise in New Orleans, and the transfers in Las Vegas which I thought was good. So it's booked! In September, you can expect to see another Jenni goes Stateside blog post with an epic return to Vegas (I can't wait to be there again but actually be old enough to drink and gamble this time). It's safe to say we're excited!

And then after a lot of excitement, it was time to get ready for the weekend round 2! I ended up going for a monochrome outfit in black and white floral shorts (which I've had absolutely years) and black milkmaid top (from missguided) with black boots. I went with a glossy lip (which is rare for me) with a Chanel one that literally stays on for hours.

Seriously, how well did me and the girls coordinate our outfits? Me and Siobhan went round to Katie's for plenty of prosecco and to sit watching her get ready (one of these days she will actually be ready by the time I get there). Then we headed in to town and went to the new Filthies, which is now called Chemistry. For anyone who loved Filthies, I would not recommend it. They've painted every wall, surface and orifice bright white and the whole place looks too stark and was pretty empty. It's no Filthies, but we were meeting up with Staci, her boyfriend and his friends so it ended up a really good night even with the questionable venue! I finally stumbled through my front door at quarter past 6, after we were all super disappointed to find that McDonalds breakfast had already started (not the end-of-the-night food you want!). Needless to say, after all the excitement, drinking and abusing my debit card to within an inch of its life, I did not move out of my bed on Sunday.
