It's october 3rd

For anyone who didn't celebrate the iconic day then seriously who are you? Not only was it October 3rd (which we all know is recognised as an international holiday) but this year it also fell on a Wednesday. And we all know that on wednesdays we wear pink. So of course, that's exactly what I did. And not satisfied with just a single serving, I went with all pink everything basically. These trousers (ASOS) aren't my favourite because they're not high waisted so they don't go with a whole lot of tops but they're a gorgeous blush pink colour and they worked well with this outfit. I added a skinny black belt and tucked in a black cami, and then added this shirt (SheIn) over the top. I absolutely love the flamingo embroidery and it's a really lovely fabric. It's pretty oversized though so I rolled up the sleeves and tied it at the waist. I finished the look with black and pink embroidered heels (new look) and a pink No7 lipstick in English Rose.

But instead of spending my october 3rd rewatching Mean Girls for the millionth time, I headed out to exploit my meerkat discount to its full potential with dinner and a movie. Me and Laura really wanted to see A simple favour and pulled in by the comfy chairs at showcase, it meant we didn't have a massive choice of restaurants. But we still had options on the meerkat meals app (my new favourite thing) and went for frankie & bennys. I actually hadn't been there in years and it reminded me of the days when me and Laura first started going out for our weekly lunches together when we were at college (a massive 6 years ago!), which was cute. We both got a spicy americano pizza and I was drawn in by the £5 cocktails (especially since the soft drinks were basically the same price) and got an aperol spritz.

Then we headed over to showcase to see the film (also on meerkat discount, of course) and I really enjoyed it! As the trailer suggests, the film is about the enigmatic Emily who mysteriously disappears just after her husband takes out a massive life insurance on her. Having bonded over their sons despite their massive differences in personalities, her best friend Stephanie tries to track her down through her mummy vlogging channel and some expert Nancy Drew skills. I really liked the tone of the whole film. It was a thriller but instead of being dark, it was quite funny with excellent one liners and sardonic replies. There were some great twists and turns (although I did guess a couple of them) and the ending was done so well. It was just the right amount of fucked up and Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick were amazing in it. For crime, sex, murder, laughs and a great storyline, go and see A simple favour.
