It's a nice day for a white wedding

After all the not-quite-so-nice weather of the last week, I was very happy that the sun was shining because it was the wedding day of two of my friends. Not friends that you might expect or would have seen on my blog before though. My friends are both in their sixties and it was her marriage number 3 and his marriage number 4! I know Jim and Linda through my grandma and we often have saturday pub sessions with the whole group so I was excited for the day. Not least because it was also my first white wedding! White people that is; the only other wedding I've been to was an Indian wedding earlier this year which was uh-mazing. I was just going to the evening part of this one so I wasn't entirely sure what to wear but I thought this one was perfect. I've previously only worn it once for my 21st birthday night out last year and with a midi length, shaped neckline and floral lace, I thought it rose to the occasion well. I added strappy black heels (they served me well on bank holiday) and black and nude bag. I also went for mixed metals jewellery with my silver and rose gold Olivia Burton watch, rose gold Wanderlust + Co bracelet, and silver Tiffany necklace with rose gold key. For makeup, I wanted to go for something light and fresh (by my standards anyway, we all know I love a smokey eye). My Revolution x Soph extra spice palette is quickly becoming my favourite; I blended Cookie dough through my crease and up to my brow bone, and then added Cheesecake through my crease and along my lower lash line. I added Twenty one in the outer corners (top and bottom) and then applied Everyday on my lid, over a dab of liquid highlighter. I finished the look with fluttery lashes (Superdrug false lashes in #13), pearly-pink highlighter (Goddess of Love by Revolution over High beam by Benefit) and Calypso satin liquid lipstick by Colourpop.

The wedding itself was lovely. I have to say that we looked a very dapper family with us all being dressed up! The bride and groom danced their first dance to Ed Sheeran's Thinking out loud and then everyone was up on the dance floor for all the Abba hits, Grease medley and Come on Eileen. I obviously made the most of having to pay for no drinks by enjoying a few gins (including a rhubarb and custard one I hadn't tried before, which was really nice) plus more than a few wines. It was a lovely night and it just goes to show that you're never too old to find your happily ever after!
