Dig in the drinking queen

Okay so it's now Tuesday and I am still recovering from the last bank holiday weekend of the year; a weekend spent drinking from start until finish. I kicked things off on Friday night with a night out with Sophia to celebrate her starting her first law job. We were initially planning a few casual drinks but then neither of us picked very casual outfits (plus we were running late) so we just made it a proper night out. I wore this burgundy booby jumpsuit from ASOS that I still love. It's a bit tricky to match shoe wise but I think these grey strappy ones went well and I tied the look together by adding grey snakeprint bag. I did high contrast eyeshadow (white on the lid and brown and burgundy through the crease) and then added winged liner and lashes. I very rarely wear anything glossy on my lips because it's impractical (it rubs off easily, your hair gets stuck in it etc) but I was really feeling like this look called for one. So I wore the perfect solution. This double-ended Chanel wand (le rouge duo ultra tenue) is a completely matte liquid lipstick on one end and then a high shine clear gloss on the other. So you get the colour, the gloss and it lasts all night! I also added these gold earrings that are a perfect match for the designer version but only cost £1 from primark! We had a great night making the most of all the 2 for 1 cocktail deals, got some free shots in Revolution for doing the limbo under a long shot stick (held very high up I might add), and tried the new bar, Alto (which was nice but a lot emptier than we hoped for). Then after we got the most horrible gin ever in there (VERY strong rose flavour), we headed to Be At One and got shots instead! I was also pretty proud of myself when I chucked a napkin towards the bin behind the bar, post-tequila shot and it actually went in! It earned me a high five from the barman and made me realise my aim must get better when I drink because I also get better at playing pool.

Then on Saturday I did something a little different. I've been to an outdoor cinema before in London and they do one every bank holiday at Wollaton Park so when we saw tickets being released back in May, we booked The Greatest Showman and we were lucky to even get them because they sold out the next day! So armed with 4 camping chairs, a picnic blanket, 4 bottles of prosecco, a cute picnic spread and jackets, blankets and scarves to wrap up in, me, Katie, Katie and Siobhan headed to Wollaton Park. We got there about half an hour after the gates opened and there was still plenty of spots so we set ourselves up about halfway up the hill. We had such a cute selection - I put the pro in prosecco picnic (wahay). Then the film started at about 8:45 so we'd had time to eat, gossip and make a dent in the bottles (having very small plastic cups that you can't put down because you're on a hill really encourages you to drink more). It was so good and I think I enjoyed it even more because I haven't watched it again since I first saw it at the cinema. The songs were all so feel-good and it was so nice being able to look up at the stars all wrapped in blankets. Because I knew we'd be sat outside and this weekend has been pretty cold, I wore black jeans, scarf print bandeau under white cowl neck bodysuit, converse and yellow suede jacket. I should've taken a blanket really but I didn't have one that was small enough but thankfully little Katie gave me her scarf to keep my legs warm. If I had taken a big blanket, I would've officially looked like I was camping. As you can see (and as my friends pointed out while laughing), I already looked like Dora the explorer with my giant bagpack.

Then on to Sunday and we thought we hadn't had enough to drink yet so me and Katie went for bottomless brunch! We were already planning a drinking sesh afterwards so needed outfits that went from day to night and I think culottes are usually a good bet in that instance. I am obsessed with the colour of these purple ones that I got from Primark last weekend and I wore them with black strappy heels (also new, only £20 from ebay!) and black strappy t-shirt. I did a purple eyeshadow look, added purple curtain tassel earrings and finished with Persistence lipstick. We've previously done bottomless brunches in London and at All Bar One (and I've tried a few others with Laura) and we were struggling to pick one for this time around. Katie isn't really a fan of actual breakfast food (eggs, pancakes, etc) so we needed a menu with a variety, plus good value on the drinks. It also largely depends on the speed of service but you can't really know that until you go! All Bar One was a bit slow but when we read the menu for Las Iguanas, we thought it sounded a really good one; £25 for 2 courses (usually only get one) and 2 hours of bottomless prosecco or beer (usually only get 90 minutes). The food was also just normal rather than breakfast-y so we thought it sounded good. When we got there (in the pouring rain) we remembered that we always get slow service in there so were worried about how bottomless it would be but after ordering, they brought us a bottle (rather than just two glasses) so we were already happy. We both got dadinhos (cheese cubes) as a starter and then I got a chicken burrito and Katie got a chicken enchilada and it was amazing. We finished that bottle after our starters so asked for another and they were a little slow bringing it, but then we checked the clock and had 10 minutes of the bottomless deal left so decided to order another bottle (despite being less than halfway down the second). They brought it and then seemed a bit surprised that we hadn't finished the other so we were worried they might try and charge us for it but they didn't! So we got 3 bottles of prosecco and a two course meal for £25 each! 10/10 would recommend. We were already feeling pretty drunk by this point (and sick to death of prosecco) so we went to Revs de Cuba and got some shots before heading to Be at One for happy hour cocktails. And we had such a good night in there! We also saw everyone I've ever met in my life in there, including Siobhan (who was out for her work leaving do), Abi, people who used to come to my house parties back in the day, people I used to work with and some people from school. And look who else I bumped in to - my bestie from my old job, Joe! Me and Katie literally had the best day and night, planning our next holidays and dancing the night away in new heels (both of us). I'm pretty proud for how well we lasted as well because we started drinking at 3pm and didn't get home until 3am! Not bad if you ask me, but certainly explains why I didn't move from my bed at all yesterday...
