Sunday funday
And on the seventh day, (s)he rested. Right? Wrong, my bank holiday was anything but relaxing! After a super busy (and long) day in London on Saturday, I was up really early again on Sunday because me and my family were headed to the peak district for a day of fun. First of all, the scenery was beautiful and it obviously helped that the weather was lovely again. And pictured above is the lesser sighted jenni-in-sportswear, because we were spending our morning abseiling off a bridge! It was such good fun and the only scary part was climbing over the railings for the first time - after that it was fine. Well, we all found it fine, but there was a stag do also doing the bridge abseil in the group next to us, and for 10-15 grown men, they all looked like they were shitting a brick (which was funny to watch) - one actually screamed all the way down! So we got like 4 turns each at that and then after a picnic lunch in the sun, we changed from up high to down low as we got kitted out in these fetching boiler suits and went caving underground. I have to say it wasn't the most enjoyable thing I've ever done. Don't get me wrong, I always love to try new things and love doing adventure/adrenaline activities, but being cold and wet and bumping your head every 5 seconds was not my favourite of the ones I've tried. Luckily, I'm not claustrophobic otherwise I'd probably be traumatised - some parts involved lying flat on your stomach and pulling yourself through! You were also in muddy water up to your thighs at some points and having to crawl over marble on your hands and knees (which was a killer). Having said that though, the caves were actually really pretty and we learnt about how they're all formed while we were down there which was pretty cool.
Then it was time to get back to my usual state of glamour because me and my friend Sophia were heading out for a bank holiday night out! I've only worn this taupe halter neck dress once but I really love it; it's flattering, I love this slinky fabric and I do really like a halter neck style. However, it is constantly riding up and the fabric is a bit see-through so it's not the most modest of dresses and I had to pull it back down every few minutes (annoying). I kept to neutral tones with my makeup too. For my eyes, I used my Lorac 3 palette, building clay, cool taupe and dark brown through my crease and outer corners (lightest to darkest) and then I added a cream highlighter on the centre of my lid before adding almond pearl over the top. I finished with lashes, lots more highlighter and Persistence lipstick by MAC. And we literally had such a good night out! I always love a good bank holiday sunday and Sophia finally got to try the bowery. Needless to say I finally got a chance to relax on Monday (in a rather hungover state).
