May the weather be hot
I really hope you enjoy reading these lifestyle blogposts because recently, it feels like all that I'm writing! But when you get a long weekend and one that's sunny too, you end up with plenty to write about. My weekend felt even longer because I kicked things off on Friday night with a night out; the rare kind where it was all 5 of me and the girls. I've had this skirt for absolutely ages (I'm talking like 4 years or something) and yet I still love it and I really like the way it fits. I wore it with black bralet under white crop top with cute frill details and then of course added my black boots. I stuck with the pink and purple hues with my eyeshadow and this pair of curtain tassel earrings (I seriously can't stop buying them). We had a fab night, starting at an event at Antenna (hosted by Katie's boyfriend and his mates) and then went on Revs in Hockley for cocktails (which were 2 for 1 thanks to my Revs card woo!). Like with all the best nights out, we finished with a taco bell!
It's hard to say why, but a hangover is definitely easier to recover from while sunning yourself in the garden and eating ice lollies! Saturdays weather was a total yes from me and so after soaking up as much sun as I could, I got ready to go out for dinner and drinks with my parents at the Nurseryman. The new menu was really nice, especially the halloumi fries! And what else to order on cinco de mayo except mexican food? So I got the chicken fajitas (which were lovely) and then headed on to the next pub to meet the girls for more drinks and to watch the David Haye fight.
Then it was on to sunday-funday because I was heading out for a wine tasting at Veeno. I've done it a couple of times before and it was just as good once again - "picky food" is my favourite kind (tapas, buffet, antipasti etc). It was so nice to be sat outside in the lovely weather too! Because the weather was nice, I wore these scarf print shorts with white wrapover blouse tucked in, black studded valentino-inspired heels and queen bee bag, finished with Persistence lipstick by MAC.
I can honestly say that yesterday was about a million times better than my average monday. Instead of being tired and stuck in the office all day, me and Laura headed to highfields park for a super cute champagne picnic. We went shopping beforehand and got champagne, pasta salad, green salad, mini sausages, mini chicken bites, sliced chorizo, breadsticks, moroccan dip, fruit salad and mini chocolate brownies. Of course we had way too much but it was so good and the extras gave me some great leftovers for today's lunch. Because it was hot hot hot, I wore printed shorts, black strappy t-shirt, black lace up sandals (which came off straight away anyway) and red curtain tassel earrings (another pair in my rapidly-expanding collection).
But my eating for the day wasn't done yet, because after hours lying out and enjoying the sun, I went home to do more of exactly the same, before my family got the BBQ going. So we enjoyed hot dogs, sweet potato fries, chicken and pepper skewers and fruit cider as the sun started to set on a perfect weekend!
