Hey momma welcome to your fifties
It's been a classic cheesy littlehales family weekend because this weekend marked my mum's 50th birthday. And while my dad threw a party for his back in March, my mum is a little more low-key than that so we kicked things off on Saturday with a girly spa day. We went to Bannatyne's in Mansfield and it was really nice! As well as the usual pool, jacuzzi and sauna, we also got 4 treatments each; a back and shoulder massage, a facial, a hand and arm massage and then a manicure or pedicure. It was super cute as well because we were in the same treatment room so we could chat as we were pampered, and then mum went for a pedicure and I went for a manicure. Then while our nails dried, we went to the 'relaxation room' where we lay on waterbeds (harder than you may realise to get on and off of). After that, we headed for afternoon tea (wearing our very fetching robes and flip flops) which was amazing - anything involving macarons is a yes from me. It was such a lovely day and the perfect cure for my hangover from accidentally staying out drinking all friday night.
Then having made a full recovery from the night before and getting myself to a reasonable state of glam, we headed out for cocktails. I went casual-chic in jeans, off the shoulder floral wrap top, heels and yellow jacket. Unfortunately though, it absolutely chucked it down the second we stepped outside so I may as well have not bothered doing my hair to begin with. I wanted to introduce my mum to some of my favourite quirky cocktail bars in Nottingham so we went for a few drinks at The Hockley Arts Club and Lost Property, before heading home for takeaway pizza!
Her actual birthday was on monday but she decided to celebrate it on the Sunday so after presents (she loved the pandora charm and trip to london I got her), we went for dinner at Chiquito. I decided to inject a bit of sunshine in to my wardrobe with these bright orange-red trousers, which I wore with black lace bralet, black tied shirt and then floral accessories; strappy heels and gucci bag. The food was amazing (as always) and the cocktails were even better - happy hour come at me!
