What was I wearing? Chanel No 5 of course
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love all things French-inspired. The language (words like déja vu, fiancé and boutique), the food (macarons, camembert, champagne) and of course, the fashion. Coco Chanel was the voice of a generation and so many of the phrases she came out with have become iconic, as well as personally inspiring. And her legacy continue in her perfumes, her beautiful boy bags and the lines released each season. Something that I associate with Chanel in particular are gorgeous woven fabrics. And while I'd love to be able to afford the real deal, I couldn't resist this cute little Missguided boucle blazer, which screamed all things Chanel to me. It's also perfect for this time of year when you still need a jacket but you don't really need a coat anymore. I also branched out with something that I haven't done for a while; clashing prints. I paired the checked print of the blazer with the florals of this embroidered mesh bodysuit, and added black jeans and white lace up heels. And, as is the Chanel way ("if you're sad, add more lipstick and attack"), I finished the look with Mocha by MAC.
