Here comes the sun
Okay so just like everyone else in the country, I have been LOVING the few days of sun we've had this week. I genuinely believe that vitamin D is a key ingredient to happiness because ever since the weather got warmer, I've felt instantly happier. Although that could have been all the alcohol I've been drinking. Of course, I've been making the most of the weather; starting off on wednesday when I joined Sian and a load of her friends straight from work on wednesday (although I didn't actually get any photos). Well a few wines outside the roundhouse ended up turning into double vodkas at the casino with a bunch of strangers at 1am when I had work the next day. Why do I do this to myself? So on Thursday, not only did I make the most of the sun by going in the garden in my lunch hour, but I also went out for some al fresco hangover-cure food and hair-of-the-dog cocktails at the Curious Manor when I'd finished. I can honestly say that I've never had a more hipster cocktail as this one; a 'goldfish' served in a bag of 'water'. How they come up with this stuff I have no idea! The food was really nice though and the cocktails were on happy hour so that's always a bonus!
Saturday was actually a super productive day (for once) because I headed out for a shopping trip, on a mission to get my mum's birthday presents. The weather wasn't quite as hot on saturday so I didn't think it was shorts weather. Instead, I opted for this pleated striped midi skirt, black choker top, and nude pink waterfall jacket. My espadrilles did me pretty well in Morocco for walking so I went with them for a day of shopping too and added my studded bag that matches perfectly. I finished with marble sunglasses from Quay, marble earrings from Marrakech and Instigator lipstick by Colourpop. And we had a productive day! We did get mum's presents but of course I couldn't resist a few bits for myself too; primark is really good right now so I treated myself to some new accessories and jewellery. We also stopped off for some more happy hour cocktails and some lunch at Red Dog Saloon, which was lovely.
And then, determined to soak up the last of the sun (it's due to go back to rain and cloud this week), me and Laura went out for some brunch (again, al fresco) this morning. We went to Bill's (after some deliberation about where to go) and I had a hot chocolate and fruity pancakes and Laura got a carrot and ginger juice with a veggie breakfast; is it obvious which one of us has a serious sweet tooth? I went for a similar sort of outfit as yesterday; a not-too-hot-but-not-too-cold outfit. I wore orange striped culottes, white bralet and black shirt tied at the waist, with queen bee bag and espadrilles. So I've now worn flat shoes like 3 times in one week - am I okay? Am I even Jenni any more? Who even knows? Well, I'm still finishing my outfits with the perfect lipstick so atleast that's something. This time, I went with Pumpkin by Limecrime.
