Mind the wrap
Continuing with my wintery themed blog posts and this time it's all about the scarf. For the past two winters, I've basically reverted to the same uniform; plain top (usually black), plain skirt or trousers, black heels and then a scarf to liven it up. Well if it ain't broke, why fix it?
Despite the fact that they are quite literally designed to keep your neck warm, I very rarely wear scarves wrapped round like this but the cold weather meant I actually had to for once! This gucci scarf is a favourite of mine and I just love the silky fabric. Plus thanks to its soft colour palette, it goes with loads. This time, I wore it with khaki high waisted trousers, black sock boots (the only boots I like to wear with trousers that aren't skinny jeans) and black high neck top. I added burgundy faux fur coat and then matched my lipstick to it with Shook by Kylie Cosmetics.
On to a not-quite-as-cold day this time and yet still, a scarf makes the perfect accessory. I brightened things up this time with red tartan scarf over mushroom pencil skirt and black top, and then added red heeled boots. I kept with the neutral tones and wore my fur trimmed mac over the top and then finished, of course, with a red lipstick (Chili by MAC).
Of course, the accessories aren't always a finishing touch - sometimes they're the basis of the whole outfit! My outfit was very plain (black skinny jeans and navy roll neck top) until I spruced it up with some accessories; floral embroidered heeled boots, pink feather print scarf, gold gucci belt and gold jewellery. Again, I kept the remaining parts of my outfit matchy-matchy by adding burgundy faux fur coat and Shook lipstick.
