I heart steak

Sorry about my radio silence for the last few days, but I've been struck down by the bug that's been going around so I have been feeling and looking like shit since Thursday and therefore haven't been taking any photos. Throwing it back to last week though when I was feeling much better and I had a pretty exciting night on Wednesday. Eating out is literally my favourite thing in the world. If I could eat out every single day without worrying about getting fat or poor then trust me I would, and I've tried pretty much everywhere in Nottingham by this point. I've been to Son of Steak before and it was amazing so when they emailed me and invited me to try their new menu, I obviously jumped at the chance!

As I often do at the minute, my outfit was made up with red as an accent colour. I wore black culottes with crochet trim, white collar shirt (with more crochet), burberry scarf (with red stripes), black bag (with red embroidery) and red heeled boots. So when me and Laura arrived at Son of Steak, we spent a while weighing up what to get (Laura is terrible at deciding anyway and has been known to ask the waiter for "a few more minutes" atleast 3 times) before I decided on the flat iron steak with fries and halloumi and Laura went with the lomito steak (what I got last time) with roasted veg and crushed sweet potato. We also got a peppercorn sauce and one of their new Bumbu Bali sauces to share between us, and I got a red wine because I'm a sophisticated adult now! The food was uh-mazing - the flat iron steak was what I almost got last time but then went with a made-to-order one instead, but it was incredible. The fact that it's slow cooked made it really tender and perfectly pink (obviously not the ideal choice for you medium-well-done people). Laura beat me and my red wine in the sophistication stakes (ha, pun not intended) too because she ordered her steak rare! We also got to sample some of the chicken with new spice scale (like a lot of restaurants now offer, such as Nando's and Chiquitos). We already had a pot of the Bumbu Bali sauce (which was pretty spicy) so we decided to get the coconut and lime chicken, which probably isn't for everyone (loads of my friends don't like coconut) but we loved it! Plus, obviously you could get one of the other flavours - the Fiery Bumbu Bali if you can handle your heat. Then despite the fact that we were already pretty full, we proved ourselves to be relationship goals by sharing a dessert. Cheesecake and ice cream - yum!
