Crushing on crochet
I feel like lace is always a little tricky because some lace is so beautiful and intricate that it looks like it's been sent down from heaven, whereas some lace looks like a cheap piece of crap that you might've thought was nice back in 2009. There's just such a wide spectrum. That's why I've always preferred crochet; a material just as intricate, beautiful and detailed but you never run the risk of going wrong, because I'm yet to meet a a crochet style that I don't like.
I've had this white top (and the black equivalent) for a while now and still love it. It's great for work and thanks to the crochet panel, it can take a plain outfit from boring to brilliant. In this instance though, I decided to pair it with my striped culottes, black heeled boots, burgundy faux fur coat and Whirl lipstick.
I'm loving yellow more and more at the minute and while I'm generally leaning towards mustard, this chartreuse skirt is right up there too. The length is perfect and the black underlayer tones it down nicely so it's really wearable. It's still a pretty statement skirt though so I kept the rest all-black-errthang with black shirt (tied at the waist), pointy black boots and black mac. I struggled for ages over what jewellery to wear because nothing seemed to look right so I ventured in to my mum''s room and borrowed this black butterfly necklace, and then finished off with Shroom liquid lipstick by Lime Crime.
This top is one of the newer additions to my wardrobe and I am absolutely in love. The crochet fabric is beautiful and the nude mesh panel at the top makes it look like it fits even nicer than it does. With it being nude and white, I obviously reached for these heels; one of my love-them-forever pairs. I added black pencil skirt and blush pink jacket and then obviously had to go for my favourite nude-pink lipstick, Velvet teddy.
