Tea, travel planning and trivia

So I may have mentioned it before, but afternoon tea is pretty much my favourite thing in the world. And yet, I actually don't think I'd been for one since my elongated birthday celebrations - over 6 months ago! I guess that working 9-5, it isn't as easy to plan something that's meant to be served in the middle of the afternoon but on Friday, me, my mum and grandma finally got it planned and went to Brown's. I've been for their afternoon tea a couple of times before but they've changed their menu atleast twice since then so it was basically like trying somewhere new and I was really impressed. The sandwiches were egg mayo, chicken & avocado, crab, and then it was supposed to be smoked salmon but none of us like it so we had cheese and pickle instead. Then we had scones, jam and cream (of course), and then a black cherry mousse (served in the cutest tiny teacup), a raspberry cream biscuit sandwich, a salted caramel profiterole and then the pièce de résistance, red velvet cake! I never usually manage to finish all the cakes on an afternoon tea but I actually managed them all on this one, and I'm never too fussed about mousses but this one was lovely. Plus we had champagne of course, and toasted to being ladies who lunch. I was going straight from work so I wore teal skinny trousers, black lace up heels, black lace and crochet top and then camo faux fur coat, plus queen bee accessories (watch and bracelet, both olivia burton).

Ever since we got back from Tenerife, me and Katie have been busy planning our next holiday and had our sights set on Morocco in March. So on saturday, after the long awaited January wages had finally landed in our bank accounts, we booked it! We've booked 5 days in the Fashion Hotel in Marrakech and without realising, we've booked for the week before Easter so we get a 4 day weekend as well once we get home. We're so excited to go and see the waterfalls and go on a camel ride and most importantly, get a stamp in our passport! So of course, we had to go out and celebrate. I wore faux leather skirt with floral embroidery, black lace bralet under blush pink flared sleeve bodysuit, and black boots (like always). I did a statement eyeshadow look with lots of reds, pinks and rose gold tones and then added Persistence lipstick. And we stuck with the pink theme with pink prosecco before we went out and then plenty of pink cocktails once we got to town. Way too many in fact; most of my night is a blur from about 1am and I didn't even realise we had gone to Be at One until I checked my bank account and saw that I'd bought a drink in there. It's safe to say that I was a mess on Sunday!

Then after I'd fully recovered and been at work on Monday, me and the girls went to the Bierkeller to take part in a long-awaited Friends quiz! We're all massive Friends geeks and for as long as I can remember (atleast since school, so over 6 years ago) we've regularly quoted Friends to eachother in conversation. So when we saw this quiz on facebook, we were obviously there. I went fairly casual for once and wore floral embroidered jeans, gucci belt, white top, nude heels and statement mustard biker jacket. The quiz was made up of 6 rounds; 2 seasons per round plus a picture round and we only went and won! £80 between us and since the drinks were only £2.50 for a double all night, our winnings more than paid for our night out. Not a bad Monday at all!
