Mellow yellow
To any long-term readers, you will be very familiar with my colour phases by now. Every few months or so, I get completely obsessed with a certain colour and end up wearing it for months (until the next phase anyway). This time around, it's mustard yellow and I can't get enough.
ASOS is my absolute favourite for work wear. Not only do they do the most perfect pencil skirts, they also do amazing trousers (I have pairs in 4 different colours) including this mustard pair. I love the fit and the fabric, although I do wish they were slightly more high waisted. Also, they fit perfectly on the legs and bum but they're a bit big on the waist so a belt is a must. I went with a skinny black one and then added black top (I love the mesh sleeves) and black court heels (I love the pearl embellishment).
Is it even really a colour obsession if you don't get a pair of shoes in it? As you've probably realised by now, pointed toe court heels are my favourite and this missguided pair were super cheap (and as with all my shoes, are super uncomfortable). The benefit to having a top with so many colours in it like this, is that it perfectly matches both my yellow shoes and my berry lipstick (Sin by MAC). I added black pencil skirt and then chocolate brown trench coat because I think it makes a really nice alternative to black.
It may not happen very often, but every now and again I do actually wear casual clothes. But casual doesn't have to mean drab and so I went with super ripped jeans, white tee, white converse and black belt and then spiced it up with mustard suede jacket. You may think that buying a statement jacket like this would mean you wouldn't get very good value for money but it goes with a surprising amount and thanks to a missguided discount code, it only cost me £32! I added my statement Valentino bag to finish off my yellow theme.
