GRWM: Hallowqueen

When deciding what to be for halloween, I always have to start with the contact lenses and work outwards from there. The reason being that I'm super blind and so not only do prescription coloured contacts cost a bomb, they also take ages to arrive so I have to make sure to get them in advance. I've gone with red contacts the last two years so I decided to mix it up and went with white ones instead because I just think they look amazing. I couldn't decide what to go as for ages but then I eventually decided to go as myself - an ice queen (not ice cream, as people kept thinking I was saying). Because my contact lenses are expensive, I never really like to splash out on a whole outfit for halloween and instead just try to do it with clothes I already have, a few accessories and then the makeup. So this year, I wore this white dress (missguided) and bought myself an icicle crown (which I had a nightmare with because it arrived late and when it finally got here it was broken so I had to superglue it). The make up was my main focus though. I started with my eyes and I used a really bright blue in the crease and round the outer corners and then actually used white face paint on my lid and round my tear duct for that extra bright effect. I also took the white face paint round the top of my forehead, down my cheek bones and then in strokes down my neck and shoulders and added snowflakes on the side of my face and along my shoulders, using the same bright blue eyeshadow and a really tiny, precise brush (although doing my right shoulder with my left hand was quite a challenge). Then for my lips, I applied Taupe as normal and then patted a load of shimmery white eyeshadow on to the centre of my lips to get this kind of ombre, frost bitten look. After adding loads of light powder and highlighter, I finished the look with statement white and silver earrings.
