Florals for autumn? Groundbreaking
It will take no measure of genius to realise that these photos are slightly out of date (given that I'm now a brunette again), but it just takes so much less time to take the photos than it does to edit and write everything up. Hence my procrastination/laziness in getting them finished. However, here I am finally getting around to it (yay me). Obviously florals in spring are a given (and a cliche) but florals in Autumn are a little trickier and often nicer. If you thought the rapidly decreasing temperature could beat the summer out of my wardrobe then you've got another thing coming.
I must literally have had this top for about 3 years now but I'm yet to fall out of love with it. Mesh and lace are always a favourite of mine and I love the see-through back on this one. I love that the embroidered floral pattern is quite muted (although that could just as easily be from years of fading in the wash, who knows) and it went perfectly with this light brown pencil skirt (ASOS). I finished the look with these long-loved heels and Mehr lipstick.
Red is a colour that just works for every season and I especially love this top; the wrap style is super flattering and I love the poppy print. When wearing red, it would be rude not to match the shoes and lips so that's what I did in this cheap eBay bargain pair of red heels and Chili lipstick by MAC. I finished the look with black culottes (missguided); a pair that I love because they're slim all the way down instead of flaring out and they have a cute frilly detail along the bottom.
Not only do I love mesh and lace but crochet is right up there too. Especially this new look top with monochrome floral pattern. I layered it over black bralet and burgundy pencil skirt and then kept to my monochrome theme with this pair of black and white heels.
