In the navy

It feels like summer is turning in to autumn before my very eyes and with that comes the time to start wearing loads of dark colour again. Although, my winter wardrobe can be very repetitive; black top, coloured skirt or trousers and black heels. So I love navy because despite it's reputation for not matching anything, I think it's a great alternative to black. Navy is obviously easier to wear the more you have of it too so in this case I matched my shoes to my jacket with these gorgeous primark court heels and missguided duster jacket. I also kept to the blue theme with this printed river island top (I just love the embellished neckline) and then finished with nude pencil skirt from H&M.

And whoever said navy and black clash clearly didn't know what they were talking about because I think they can go really well together, as long as you don't throw too much else in the mix. For this one, I kept it to a two-tone colour palette with navy bodysuit and heels, and black skirt, belt and lacy bralet underneath (which is always a nice finishing touch).

I have this ASOS skirt in about 28453 different colours and so it would be rude not to get myself one in the namesake of this blogpost title too. This grey blouse always goes well because it has really blueish undertones and I don't think you can go wrong with a barely-there-heel. I also love the embellished collar on this top - it sets the outfit off and keeps it from being too plain.

Another autumn essential are culottes; they're such a good transitional piece and this pair have long been a favourite of mine. I added this striped wrapover blouse (I love navy and tan together) and then finished with navy heels - I did consider orange but they were too bright and this pair looked much chicer.
