Diary of a princess: forever a party girl
Just in case you were under some kind of illusion that I was done celebrating my birthday after only a week (get real), well I was not. I drag my birthday out for as long as humanly possible every single year so seeing as this year has been my 21st, I stretched it out even more! So even after everything I'd already squeezed in (see my last blog post for all the juicy details), I headed out on Thursday for my birthday meal with Laura. Me and her always say that we're like yin and yang; like 2 halves of the same circle, we're very similar but our differences compliment eachother perfectly. However, I never thought that our similarities would stretch as far as turning up to dinner in almost identical outfits! Mine was a jumpsuit and hers was a top and trousers but we both wore a red v-neck with a black bralet underneath and a black Chanel-dupe boybag. Just for any boys who mock how girls always ask what eachother are wearing to something - this is a great example of why that is necessary! It didn't make it any better that our table was against a mirror-wall so it looked like 4 of the same person were sat at our table! But the meal itself was amazing; I've wanted to try Dino in Nottingham for a while now and it didn't disappoint!
Then after a fabulous day in the sunshine on Saturday, I got ready for my birthday night out. Every year I start shopping for my birthday dress super early because sod's law is that when you actually need a dress, you can't find one you like. This was one that I'd wanted for ages by Rare London and so when ASOS had 20% off, I snapped it straight up. I had originally bought it for bank holiday (so like nearly 2 months ago) but when it arrived, I was so in love with it and figured that it was too nice for a bank holiday and decided to save it for my birthday. I'm just obsessed with the neckline and think it's so flattering - plus it has built in cups so no need for a bra! Do you remember how I said that I snapped the heel off my favourite shoes in London? Well they've made a miraculous recovery! However, not miraculous enough for me to risk wearing them to town so about half an hour in to predrinks, I swapped them. I kept to the pink tones with my make up with a mauve pink and grey eyeshadow look and lots of pink-toned highlighter, then I finished the look with Persistence lipstick.
I've always loved having a summer birthday (even if I have to wait longer than the others in my school year) but even more so when it involves drinking sangria in the garden! I had such an amazing night with all my favourite girls and was such a drunken mess (although not quite as bad as Laura who spent 10 minutes making everyone look for her bank card and it turns out she didn't even bring it out hahaha).
As ever, the aftermath of a night out (especially when you've hosted predrinks) was not so much fun. Never mind the hangover but the mess everywhere! So in classic Jenni style, rather than cleaning it, I went in the garden and enjoyed a few drinks in the sunshine instead. I have genuinely had the most incredible 21st birthday and one that I will cherish forever. To all the people who have made it so special; I feel very lucky to have you and I love you all!
