Paint the town red
I think there's a very good reason that so many iconic women in film, TV and books wear red. Marilyn Monroe, Jessica Rabbit, Blair Waldorf, Vivian Ward, Betty Boop. And of course Curly's Wife, but the less said about her, the better. There's just something about the colour red that encompasses femininity, power and desire all in to one. All of which are qualities I want in my wardrobe (and in myself, of course) and while something like an all-red dress might be too dramatic for work, I think a few splashes of red in my accessories make the perfect power outfit. So in this case, I went with red shoes (the literal shoe emoji), red tartan scarf and red lipstick (of course) which is a MAC one in the shade Chili. I didn't want anyone to get a migraine as I walked past them, so I obviously didn't add any more colours to this mix. I kept the rest of my outfit pretty simple with black skirt, white crochet panel top and black jacket. And what else do you notice about a lot of the above mentioned women-in-red? The curly hair. I figured there must be something in it, so I followed suit with the classic combination.
