St. paddy's day partying
Like everyone else, on Friday I was celebrating my non-existent Irish heritage in St. Paddy's day style! Except for the first time, I wasn't out in Nottingham, I was out in Sheffield with my best friend Laura who I am terrible at going to see and have only actually made it up once a year for the 3 years she's been at uni there! It just feels like she's home so much with christmas, easter, summer, reading weeks and the odd weekend home that weekends in Sheffield never really line up. But finally, our schedules lined up and so I legged it to the train station after work on Friday and got to Sheffield for about 6. We had to get ready in record time though because we had a table booked at Cubana at 7:30 - I got ready so quickly in fact that I didn't even get an outfit photo! But you can kind of see the top in the selfies (obviously I wore green) and I just paired it with black jeans and black heeled boots. The tapas at Cubana was amazing and then after finishing off a bottle of wine, we headed straight out after with a couple of Laura's uni friends and literally had the best night! Laura was the drunkest I've ever seen her and by the end of the night she was dropping her subway all over herself and smashing plates and I was convincing her that we were locked out (one of her house mates had got locked out earlier that night) despite the fact that we were sat in her living room as I said it.
Then the next day, after a lazy morning fighting off the hangover, we headed out for lunch at The Botanist (which I've wanted to try for absolutely ages). We were sat upstairs in the butterfly emporium which was so super cute! I started off with their twist on a pornstar martini (it was pink so naturally I loved it) and then I got a bacon-crusted baked camembert (which was literally so amazing) and Laura got soup of the day that came in this cute little plant pot! Then I got one of their signature hanging chicken kebabs which was really nice, if a little awkward to eat. Again, no outfit photo (what is happening to me) but I wore black jeans, black 3/4 flute sleeve top and then burberry checked scarf and black heeled boots. Then after an amazing 24 hours, me and Laura battled our way through the wind and rain (it's amazing how much colder and more horrible the weather is by only going 1 hour up north) to the train station to head back to Nottingham. I'm so excited for her to soon be back in Nottingham full time!
