Berliner, babies and bella italia

This weekend has been a very mixed (but good) one! I kicked things off on Friday night with the opening of a new bar near me, called the Berliner. It was nice and it was pretty busy because it was launch night but it was really hipster so not totally my vibe. I'm not very hipster in case you hadn't noticed before. Then me and Katie headed in to town after and got way too drunk - we went to a bar called brass monkey and then coco tang. I had one of those nights (girls I'm sure you can relate) where you have an outfit idea in your head from the start. Then you try it on and don't feel 100% on it so you change your mind ATLEAST 3 times and before you know it, you're surrounded by screwed up clothes and 5 minutes from saying you're not going out anymore. Then you try on the original outfit, realise it's perfect and wonder why you ever changed out of it in the first place. In this instance, I was wearing a black midi skirt with mesh overlay and checked velvet pattern, black boots and pink choker crop top. And me and Katie were basically twinning (as we often accidentally are).

I can't say I've ever been very good at doing what I'm told. And when I booked in for my tattoo, my one instruction was to not turn up hungover. And so guess what I did? Oops. Well I guess the alcohol still in my veins probably numbed the pain a bit. To be fair though it didn't really hurt. I expected getting a tattoo to feel like what it is; like a needle stabbing you over and over again. But actually it feels more like someone dragging a pen or a compass or something along your skin while pressing down as hard as they can. If you read the blogpost I wrote as I entered my twenties, you may remember that among the other things on my bucket list, I wanted to get a tattoo. My school IT teacher had loads of tattoos and he always said if you want a tattoo, get a design and then wait 6 months and see if you still like it. This tattoo has been something I've wanted for a year and a half and I'm literally so happy with it! If anyone's wondering about the meaning behind it, it's because I'm a girl who wishes for the world and it's also because the world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.

Then on Sunday, I did something I've never done before - I went to a baby shower, and it was really nice! Not only because the cake Charlie made was amazing, but because I got chance to catch up with some old school friends who I literally haven't seen in years! It also seems so crazy how different all of our lives have gone since school in only 4 years - Charlie is about to welcome baby number 2 and Megan has a baby boy too. Meanwhile I'm just trying to work out how much I can realistically spend on alcohol AND still be able to afford everyone's Christmas presents. And don't let the cute baby photo fool you - I am so unmaternal it's ridiculous. The second he looked like he was about to cry, I freaked out and gave him back. Let's just say I'm not exactly a natural!

Then like all good weekends, this one was finished off with waaay too much food. With it being my brother's first weekend back from uni, we obviously had to go out for a family meal (because any excuse and we go out for a family meal). We went to Bella Italia and it was so amazing that I went in to a total food coma when we got home. I think I was in bed by about 10!
