A cosmopolitan weekend
The sooner I can afford to move to London (basically never) the better; every time I go I just fall more and more in love with the idea of being there all the time. This time I was with my family (rather than Laura my usual london companion) because my grandma kindly treated us all to Aladdin tickets. I have to say that London is even better when you don't have to pay for anything.
We started the day with brunch in Covent garden (most amazing pancakes ever - "the banoffee pie" at Creme de la crepe) before we headed to the West end. We had amazing seats and the whole performance was so incredible! It stuck to the Disney film closely enough that it didn't feel too unlike the story we all love but it had to make certain changes seeing as you're not allowed animals in the production. The best part for me was the costume and stage dressing department; all the outfits were so colourful and beautifully embellished and each different set was amazing. When the genie first came out the lamp, he rose up out of the floor in a cloud of smoke and the 'a whole new world' scene was literally the best. We also got to enjoy the views of London from the terrace bar in the interval. To say I was spending the weekend in London, I went with a very Carrie Bradshaw (and therefore very New York) outfit choice. I love this skirt so much that I actually have it in 3 different colours but this dusky pink remains my favourite. I matched my top and shoes together by wearing this cut-out khaki crop top and khaki lace up heels. Heels may not have been the best choice but atleast they looked pretty. I added my J necklace (also a very Carrie Bradshaw touch), drop back leaf earrings and Posie K lip kit. Oh and massive sunglasses of course.
Then when we finally got to our hotel next to Bloomsbury square, we got a free upgrade to an executive suite because apparently our room wasn't up to standard (basically the people before us had probably trashed it). I reckon I must've saved up some good karma lately because the universe was definitely repaying me!
Then we got ready and headed out for dinner at Spaghetti house. I haven't worn this missguided playsuit in a while but I still absolutely love it; the lace sleeves are a really nice detail. I added nude heels and false lashes and then swapped my lipstick to Taupe (my all time trusty favourite). The food was absolutely amazing and we all just pretty much went in to a food coma the second we got back.
Just to give you a better idea of what an amazing room we had, look at the size of that terrace balcony! My good karma kept on going because we had amazing sunshine all weekend (although it was super windy but I like to look on the bright side of life - pun not intended). So obviously I made the most of being able to wear a summery outfit and went with this stripy long-at-the-back-short-at-the-front skirt and then kept the rest simple with a black cami top and black lace up sandals with brown heels.
Normally when I go to London, I like to find really fun and unique things to do. But this time I embraced the tourist life and we went on an open top bus ride, touring round places like St. Paul's cathedral, the shard and Big Ben. It was actually a really good way to see London and you get to avoid all the slow walkers so win win.
Then we had lunch along the Thames before riding down it on a boat cruise. We also got to see Tower bridge go up for a big boat to go under which reminded me of Ibiza because we met a guy who said he worked at Tower bridge and so we assumed he just pressed a button to make it go up and down. The Ibiza blues are still pretty strong guys (in case you couldn't tell). Then I hailed a black cab (something which is actually so fun to do) and we headed home. I've had such an amazing summer so far; London, then my birthday, then Ibiza, then London again. And I've still got America and Amsterdam to look forward to!
