I heard you good with them soft lips

If you follow me on Instagram then you probably saw that I bought these kiko lip liners quite a while ago now and you may be wondering why it's taken me this long to blog about them. Well not only did I buy them just before my holiday and so I didn't get time, but I also knew that I'd be getting some other new lip products pretty soon so I decided to save them so I could roll it all in to one blog post.

The kiko lip liners have been repackaged since the last time I bought any and I have to say I like these gold ones a lot better than the matte black ones before them. By the way, when I buy lip liners I just buy them as lip colours, I don't buy them to be paired with a certain lipstick or anything. The first shade I picked up was 405 from the ever lasting colour range. Which is rather aptly named because the stuff does not budge all day. It actually took quite a lot of scrubbing with a makeup wipe to get it off! This is a really nice light dusky pink, kind of similar to Mehr lipstick by MAC.

The next one is also in the ever lasting colour range and this is the shade 413. It's such a gorgeous deep magenta and I've been looking for one like this for ages but they're always too bright or too dark so this one is perfect.

This is shade 306 from the (very slightly cheaper) creamy colour range. I have been after an orange lipstick forever and always have to pair a bright red with a coral whenever I feel like an orange lip would really work so this has totally filled a gap in my collection.

So I've never attempted to get a Kylie lip kit before (when they were selling out within like an hour or something) but now the buzz has died down a bit and they get restocked each week so normally about half of the shades are available at any one time. So I thought it was about time I tried them out and to make the shipping cost seem worth it, I thought I may aswell order a couple. I loved Candy K but that was sold out (so it's on my list for next time) so I went with Dolce K and Posie K (which I also loved). I steered well clear of shades like Koko K because they'd be way too light for me and would probably make me look ill.

Before ordering anything, I looked at swatches online but it's still so hard to work out what they'll look like because most people are either light or dark skinned. With me being olive skinned, it seems to totally change how lip colours look on me compared to everyone else. With Dolce K being a kind of dark nude/brown colour though I figured it was a pretty safe bet and I was right because I love it. It's quite similar to Stone lipstick by MAC and Cashmere liquid lipstick by Limecrime and has a really nice ashy undertone. I'm really impressed with the lip kits themselves too. The lip pencils are really creamy and soft and the liquid lipsticks go on really nicely, dry within like 20 seconds (I made a point of counting) and then stay perfectly in place. It's not an overly thick formula though so I think some of the darker shades like the purples and reds might go a bit patchy.

I think Posie K is my favourite out of the 2 I ordered because it's just such a wearable colour for both day and night. It's a really nice dark rose pink, similar to Twig by MAC but with much cooler undertones. Getting hit with a £15.91 customs charge after already paying $29 for the lip kits and then $15 shipping was not exactly a nice surprise (I kind of expected it anyway) but they did come really quickly and that just means it makes much more sense to order more in one go so you only pay the shipping and customs once. Anything that validates extra shopping is good with me!
