Woman in white
There's something strangely empowering about wearing white (especially a white dress). It's like saying to the world 'I'm not afraid of falling over or spilling things or having anyone knock into me'; it's like the utmost confidence in yourself. I imagine that's partly why brides wear white on their wedding day. Plus it's such a great colour (or non-colour depending on your outlook) for spring/summer because it's just so light and fresh. And it also just so happens to be the only colour that matches navy - not even black matches it! This jacket was one of those purchases that seemed like a great idea at the time because I loved it so much but more and more I'm understanding why people limit navy to a top or a part of a print - because trying to wear it as a jacket (the item that is supposed to tie your whole outfit together) is like an impossible task. Well I do like a challenge so I wore it with this white dress, which is so perfect apart from one minor detail. I love the fabric, the length and the sleeve length but it's nearly impossible to get in and out of because the head hole is so small! Or maybe I've just got an embarrassingly large head and missguided just wanted to point that out to me, I don't know. Either way, it's basically like a tug of war work out trying to get this thing on! Seeing as I don't own any navy shoes, I didn't want to wear all white and I'm not one for wearing all-plain-anything anyway, I went with a statement shoe. I considered my leopard print court heels but went for these snake print ones in the end because I felt that they went with the whole cool toned outfit better. Sticking with my cool toned theme, I added silver statement earrings and silver watch and then finished with Stone lipstick, a really nice ashy brown colour which is very 1990s.
