A white weekend
No I have not named this blog post after snowy weather (I know British weather is ridiculous but even that would be pushing it), but apparently I had some kind of dress code this bank holiday - I basically wore white all weekend. And although I'm kind of sad that we now have no more bank holidays for a while, this weekend has been so good and so funny that it should keep me going for a while!
We kicked off the fun on Saturday night with a trip to the pub which was hosting a cider festival with live music and stuff. Because we were only going to the pub rather than into town, I dressed more casual than usual. Well I still wore heels of course. I think nothing says summer quite like a pair of white jeans and they brightened up this top perfectly; I love the teal colour but all it really matches is black so it can then look a bit dull so this white jeans combo was perfect. I tied the outfit together by matching my black shoes to my black lace bralet and then added a pop of colour with Captive lipstick. Although me and my friends famously fail at things. Like the time we specifically went out to go to an ice bar and then didn't bother buying tickets for the ice bar so got stuck in the normal part of the club. Apparently this weekend was no exception and despite the fact that we went for the cider festival, we went outside to the very end of 'summer of 69' and then the band went 'thank you and good night'. Such a fail. But it all ended up alright in the end because we bumped into some old friends and Katie managed to scam the cider tent guy out of 4 free little cups of cider and we had a really funny rest of the night. So not a total fail after all.

Then I started off my Sunday with a lovely brunch and a catch up with my bestie Laura. After seeing loads of photos on instagram, I've wanted to go to Bill's for breakfast for ages and it was just as amazing as the photos made it look. We both got the blueberry pancakes with fruit, syrup and bacon and I got a pink lemonade ice cream float and it was incredible. How every Sunday should be spent basically.
Then it was time to get ready in another white outfit. I've had this dress for like a year now and I still love it just as much as when I bought it. It's a bit impractical in terms of bra-wearing because of all the mesh cut out's but I just love the shape and design so much. I never like to stray from my usual black boots (for fear of painful shoes ruining my fun) and so I wore my black bag too so that it didn't look as odd. I love this make up look too. I started with Chrome (Lorac 2) over my lid and then blended Untamed (Lorac unzipped) through my crease and under my eye. I darkened the outer corners with Creep (Naked) and then added liner, mascara and lashes and finished with Taupe lipstick.

Sunday night was genuinely one of the funniest and best nights out I've had in ages. We kicked the night off in Revolucion de Cuba where the band from the Doritos advert was playing and it was so much fun! Everyone was wearing sombreros and singing along at the top of their lungs (as you can see on the video if you can get it to work), including me so sorry to all the people around us because I am a terrible singer. Then we ended up in the Bowery club where we had the funniest and drunkest night ever (all looking super sober in the photos) and randomly bumped into Dan Osborne from TOWIE who was nice enough to get a selfie with us. The funniest part came at the end of the night though when Katie didn't want the night to end and so she kept running away and trying to run back to the club even though it was 4am and so it had already shut. So I had to chase her around town and try and drag her into a taxi. 5 minutes later, I had to wrestle her onto the floor of a black cab and then fight her to swing her legs in and shut the door, when I shouted 'go, go, go' to the taxi driver. I'm not sure what people around us must've thought was happening - it must've looked like I was trying to kidnap her or something. It was actually the funniest thing ever and the wrestling paired with the laughing made it so that I was exhausted on the way home. That's my exercise done for the week.
It wouldn't be bank holiday without a slightly optimistic BBQ (it was just about sunny on Monday) and so we pigged out on hot dogs, burgers, pulled pork, steak, chicken, jacket potatoes and pringles. My family have issues with portion control so we made enough food to feed about 10 people even though there was only 4 of us. Well hangovers and food comas do go together well I suppose.
