Summer is that you?
For anyone currently reading from Melbourne or California you probably won't understand but here in the UK, there is a strange phenomenon that occurs around this time of year. The sun finally comes out and so Brits everywhere are compelled to dress for summer even though it's still basically freezing outside. Never one to let the weather, comfort or practicality dictate what I wear anyway, I obviously dressed for the sunshine! I haven't worn this skirt since last summer when I got it but I fancied wearing a skater skirt as a nice change and I do love the print on this one. Not only did wearing a skirt indicate to the universe that I'm ready for summer, but it also meant that I could show off my lovely new shoes. Yes, I have fallen into the trap yet again and bought another pair or black lace up heels that are pretty uncomfortable but very pretty. Well I did have a 25% off code for Public Desire so it's lack-of-comfort for less! I balanced up the colours of my outfit by tucking this black top into my skirt - the choker neckline style is my latest obsession so naturally I have ordered about 5 of them already. I'm also feeling myself becoming obsessed with the colour blush so you can expect to see a lot of that in the months to come. I finished with my long cream coat, black Olivia Burton watch and red Chanel lipstick.
They say the early bird catches the worm so despite it being a Sunday (and therefore a universal lie-in day), me and Laura went out for an early brunch at Copper so I could give her her belated birthday present and we could have a catch up before she goes back to uni for her final month before she's done for the summer. Not the prettiest menu option but certainly the tastiest, I went with a Croque Madame which is a Croque Monsieur (essentially a cheese and ham toastie) with a fried egg. But in an act more British than bonding with strangers at the bus stop about how long you've had to wait for the bus or using the phrase 'break the seal', Copper have named the menu options 'Croque Mister' and 'Croque Mrs' instead. Whatever they want to call it, it was still amazing.
