Pretty in pink

Oh. My. God. (if you didn't read that in Janice's voice then we probably can't be Friends - ha the irony). I have literally died and gone to coat heaven. I have been on the hunt for the perfect pink coat for as long as I can remember but they're all either way too bright or just nude/camel which FYI is not pink or they're just the wrong style. Until this holy grail of coats walked in to my life. Well not literally but you get the idea. I found this beauty on the topshop website and at £89 I thought it was maybe a bit too expensive but then I remembered I get 10% UNiDAYS discount and then I had a £15 gift card from Christmas from Sian so I only had to pay £65 which makes it totally affordable. See, this is the way my mind works which is probably why I spend so much money. Even if I did have to pay £89 it would've still been worth it because I am in love. The colour is beyond perfect, it's my favourite length and I love the cape style around the shoulders. Naturally I had to build the rest of my dinner-and-drinks outfit (under the strict instructions of my best friend Katie, I will now try and mention where I wore each of my blogged outfits to) around the coat. I've had this top for years now but it always survives my ruthless wardrobe sort outs; it's a really nice length to wear with anything high waisted, I love the pale pink flower embroidered detailing and the back is entirely black mesh which I think makes it that little bit different. I kept the rest of my outfit simple with indigo jeans and black stiletto boots. And then I went all out with the pink make up. I started with my Lorac unzipped palette and blended Unbelievable over my lid and then Uncensored through my crease and under my eyes. Moving onto my Naked 3 palette, I added buzz as a bright colour pop through my crease and round the outer corners and then used Sin from my Naked palette as a highlight in my tear duct. Then I added winged eye liner, mascara and lashes. Because I was wearing really thick, dark lashes (Eylure 121), I went for a really strong brow look by filling them in with my normal Rimmel pencil and then going over them with Benefit Gimme brow mascara. I then lined my lips with Kiko lip pencil in shade 502 (which is such a nice creamy consistency) and went over them with MAC Brave lipstick.

I actually had the most amazing dinner at Revolucion de Cuba! If you haven't heard of it before or don't have one near you, it's basically a sister chain to Revolution that specialises in rum rather than vodka but is just as creative with their cocktails. And the food is even better! Obviously I was hungover on Friday (because let's face it, when am I not?) and so a big mexican feast properly sorted me out. Also if you're still feeling a bit delicate and aren't sure about risking drinking then this is the perfect cocktail - a strawbana rumrise (half a frozen strawberry daiquiri and half a frozen banana daiquiri). Then we headed to the Boiler Maker which is probably only ever visited by Nottingham locals because you wouldn't go in if you didn't know it was there. From the outside, it's just an empty white room with a boiler and a desk in it with no sign above it or any indication as to what it is. You go inside, go behind the desk and through a door marked 'staff only' and end up in what seems to be a toilet and then you push the sink and you're inside a bar! I still think it's the coolest concept ever. Plus the bar itself is really nice and everything is covered in fairy lights; the menu is really confusing because it's written like a boiler instruction manual so it's hard to work out what any of the cocktails are but once you actually work it out and order they're amazing. And so inventive! Some are served in a toxic waste bin, in a cereal box, garnished with a glow stick or finished off with an upside down ice cream cone in it. Being the person who comes up with the cocktails in that place must literally be such a fun job.
