Spring fling queen
And just like that, Spring is here! And so naturally, I celebrated the occasion by going bare legged. Not that I haven't been sporting bare legs all winter anyway, but now it's finally socially acceptable and practically a seasonal requirement. I steered well clear of anything black (I even used a different bag for a change) and went for all things light and beautiful instead. I fell in love with this dress the second I saw it on Missguided's website and was gutted when it sold out in my size but apparently there is a god because they restocked just in time for me to get 50% off (along with the rest of my £150 order that I almost ordered the night before the 50% off everything event). I thought I'd been cursed when it arrived and I couldn't get it over my head because the neck hole is really small but I managed it in the end. I'm yet to attempt getting it back off though so that could be a total disaster - wish me luck for when I get changed later on tonight! I just love that it's a really chic yet still laid back cut and it has a definite 60s vibe to it. I kept to an almost-all missguided outfit with these lace up court heels which are seriously beautiful and have a seriously cute tassel detail (and obviously because this is me we're talking about, they're seriously painful too). I matched my bag to my shoes with this cute little Chanel dupe and then finished with grey duster jacket and rose gold Michael Kors watch.
I haven't given my make up details in a while and seeing as I went with something a little different to normal I thought it was about time I shared. I wanted a really night bright, dewy look for the first day of spring so I used my Lorac palette and swept Champagne across my lid and blended Pewter through my crease and along my lower lash line and then added winged eye liner, mascara and lashes. Then I moved onto my Naked palette and used a mix of Virgin and Sin in my tear duct to really brighten my eyes and then I used an angled brush to fill in my brows with Naked. I normally just use an eyebrow pencil which is quite a lot darker than my actual brows but to go with the whole look I was going for I wanted something more natural so I simply finished them off with some Benefit Gimme Brow mascara. I also attempted strobing (basically just using highlighter rather than any dark powders to contour your face) by adding Benefit High Beam to any places on my face that naturally catch the light; my temple, my nose, my eyebrow bone, my cheek bones and my cupids bow. Then I finished off the whole lot with Soar lip liner and Velvet teddy lipstick.
