Flat out fabulous
I don't know if hell has frozen over or if pigs have started flying but today I actually wore flat shoes. I felt like despite the fact I'm not a fan, I should own a pretty pair of flats as a more comfortable option for any days where I've got a lot of walking to do or something. So against my better judgement I ordered them and in a truly ironic turn of events, they're more painful than any of my heels! I feel like they've been pretty much sawing the backs of my ankles off all day. And the irony continues because they're even named 'comfort pumps' on the New Look website! I will admit that they are quite pretty but I'll never be sold on flat shoes - they don't elongate your legs or make you look slimmer and despite the fact I'm still 5'7, I felt like a dwarf or something without my normal extra 4-5 inches. I was definitely channeling French vibes today though. I wore my favourite navy culottes because the length worked quite well with the lace up shoes (which would have looked even better if they were heels) and then added this black and white stripe roll neck top. I finished with camel duster coat and in keeping with my blog post title, I completed the look with Flat Out Fabulous lipstick for a pop of bright pink.
