Fashioneaster
We all know that bank holiday weekends are always an excuse to drink non stop, especially Easter weekend when it's a 4 day special. Well drinking non-stop AND eating chocolate non-stop which is not a very practical combination because how are you meant to look nice when you go out on Sunday night after spending the whole weekend stuffing your face with mini eggs?
I kicked my weekend off with my regular Thursday night out to rock city (although it was waaaay busier than normal) and I lived like a proper student by drinking wine out of a mug in amongst all of Sian's mess (she has a permanent floordrobe). I swear I've just been wearing variations of the same outfit all through winter; black long sleeve top, shorts and black boots. The variation of choice on Thursday night was this bandage top from missguided which is actually kind of painful because of the twisted cut out bits down the arms (but we've already established I'm happy to suffer for my fashion so), and these pink shorts which were also from missguided. I finished with black public desire boots and plenty of gold jewellery and I stuck with my pink colour scheme when it came to my make up. I applied Toasted (Naked palette) over my lid and then blended Black heart (Naked 3 palette) through my crease and along my lower lash line. I added Untamed (Lorac unzipped palette) into the outer corners and then finished with mascara, liner and lashes and of course Taupe lipstick.
Then after a cute brunch and catch up with my friend Laura on Saturday, it was time to let the Easter Sunday chocolate binge begin! I obviously wasn't to let the occasion go by without some baking so I took some inspiration from the Proper Tasty facebook page (which I am obsessed with) and whipped up some of these uh-mazing creme egg rocky roads. They're so yummy but so simple; just melt together 250g milk chocolate, 150g dark chocolate, 150g butter and 4 tbsp of golden syrup over a bain marie and then take it off the heat and stir in 150g broken digestive biscuit chunks, 100g mini marshmallows and 180g mini creme eggs and then transfer the mix into a tray lined with greaseproof paper. Then drizzle it with 75g melted white chocolate mixed with yellow food colouring and 75g melted white chocolate and press creme egg halves into the top and then just put it in the fridge to cool! And if all that chocolate wasn't enough, we also had our annual easter egg hunt (yes we still have one despite the fact that me and my brother are now 19 and 18). And this years was even more epic than any other because my mum had gone all out - she had written clues that we had to read in the mirror, she had written clues that we needed to use a compass for, she had frozen clues in ice that we had to go outside and smash and all sorts! And now I have enough chocolate to last me until next Easter and all hopes of a summer bikini body have gone right out the window.
I obviously had a 'think pink' thing going on this weekend because I went with pretty much the same make up on Sunday night; Toasted (Naked palette) across my lid, Cocoa (Lorac 2 palette) through my crease and along my lower lashline and Hustle (Naked palette) in the outer corners. Again I went with Taupe lipstick which I've pretty much used down to nothing-ness and will definitely need to re-buy soon. And obviously I was wearing a very similar outfit to always; I layered a black lace bralet (missguided) under a black long sleeve mesh bodysuit (also missguided) and added these black and pale pink printed shorts (topshop) - I'm pretty sure these shorts were originally black and white but my mum must've dyed them pink in the wash. I also wore my gold rings and 2 of my favourite pairs of earrings which actually turned out to be a lot more hassle than normal. I got to the bus stop to go to Sian's and the bus was 4 minutes away and then realised I'd forgotten my earrings and so being the control freak that I am, I ran home, got the earrings and ran back to the bus stop in 3 minutes rather than just go out without them. And then when I got home like 7 hours later in a much worse state than the one I'd left in, I had lost one of my earrings - I think that's what you would call ironic.
And for the second time in one weekend, I was a total drunken mess and embarassed myself. I'm not sure if it was the bottle of wine, the vodka or the tequila shots but I am very sorry to anyone who had to see me this weekend. Although from what I can remember, it was a pretty hilarious weekend and I'm glad that the next bank holiday isn't too far away.
