The haul queen is back
Despite the fact that two weeks ago, I got paid double what I was expecting due to my yearly bonus and a £650 tax rebate, I hadn't actually bought myself anything. I had spent money on nights out obviously but I hadn't bought any clothes, shoes, make up - anything! I was starting to worry that I had a brain tumor or a personality disorder or something so I went online and bought £300 worth of clothes and then I felt more like myself again. Don't worry, everything's good now. And it's been so long since I got to do a haul blog post so I'm happy to finally be doing one again! Everything that I bought is linked; if it's not linked then it's not new and you can probably find it in an older blog post somewhere.
Getting Shirty
Now that I'm a proper working girl (the actual kind, not the prostitute kind), I felt like I need a few more shirts in my wardrobe because they work so nicely for both the office and for the weekend. I think a shirt-jeans-and-heels outfit is one of my favourites because it's so effortless yet looks really nice. I wore the same jeans in all these photos, the black Joni topshop ones (they're not new but I thought I'd be helpful and link them anyway).
I've had my eye on this shirt for a while now. I love stripes - as you will probably see throughout this post, I have kind of an obsession - and I love that these are camel as well as black. It perfectly matches these strappy nude heels.
I'm a big fan of grey because I'm not a fan of all-black-everything outfits but sometimes you don't always want to wear colour so it's a nice inbetween. This is a really nice slouchy style and it matches these beautiful new shoes too - the shoes are kind of hard to walk in but they're beautiful so that's what really counts.
My love of lace-up continues. This shirt is a nice way to wear lace up without showing any boob so it's acceptable for the office. Win-win.
Stripes For Days
Like I said; obsessed with stripes. There's an old urban myth that says that horizontal stripes make you look fatter while vertical stripes make you look thinner. When in actual fact, I find the opposite to be true. Horizontal stripes always give you a nice waistline whereas vertical stripes (mainly if it's on a dress with a bodycon style) make you look like you're a weird shape.
This dress has all my favourite lengths and styles; knee length hem, 3/4 length sleeves and a high neck line. I also love that it's black, white and camel and it fits like a dream. Missguided, how do you always get it so right?
I fell in love with this dress months ago when it was only available in petite and then even when it became available in normal I still didn't buy it for reasons unknown to me. So I finally bit the bullet and bought it and I am love. Not only do I love the colours and print, but it's a really nice fine knit fabric.
Culottes Of Dreams
I always love culottes in theory but a lot of the time when I actually try them on, I just feel like I'm wearing some weird kind of 70s flares. For me, it's all about getting the length right...
These culottes are technically in the petite range which is probably why I feel like they're the perfect length and I really wanted to get some new navy clothes because I think it's such a nice alternative to black. Even though they're petite though, I still got my normal size and they fit perfectly. I wore them with my new grey heels and then matched them with this grey top which has a really nice embellished collar detail (and really could've done with an iron before taking the photos).
Again, I find jumpsuits so hard to buy but I fell in love with this the second I saw it on the ASOS website and I was really hopeful that it would look the same on me. It's a pinafore style so you can't really wear it on it's own unless you want to sport some serious side boob but it'll work really nicely with shirts and roll necks.
Top Of The Shops
I would say that the item of clothing I buy most regularly is tops because I think that's the main part of an outfit that people notice and you can never really have too many.
You may have noticed that I'm loving wrap tops at the minute and so I couldn't resist this khaki one (being that khaki is one of my favourite colours). I love the tie-waist and I think it will work really well for work, casual or for going out. Plus it matches these shoes perfectly!
Not only can you never have too many tops, but apparently you can never have too many striped high neck tops either because I seem to have loads. Never the less, I just had to have this one - well it was only £9.99 after all!
This is a really simple one but I really love the sleeve length and the neckline - plus it will literally go with everything!
Not only do I love everything that I bought (minus the couple of things that I've already tried on and sent back), but my family also loved everything I got. Well you have to keep your fans happy don't you?
