I'm a survivor
I think I actually deserve some kind of award or medal or something after this weekend. Not only did I manage to go out 3 nights in a row, but I also managed to go to work! I'm totally proud. Especially since my hangovers normally involve staying in bed for at least 24 hours. The drinking binge kicked off on Thursday night with a usual messy night in Rock City. I wore my all time favourite colour (which is khaki in case you hadn't guessed already) with these skorts, which I'm not usually a massive fan of but I actually really like this pair and then this long sleeve cut out top.
And then like a true warrior, I got up for work after 2 hours sleep. Turning up at the office still drunk wasn't exactly part of my plan but that's what happened - luckily everyone was too taken aback by the fact that I was wearing converse and not heels that they didn't even notice. I reckon that was a pretty clever technique on my part. Then after surviving through the day, I went back home and got ready to go straight back out again. I am so in love with this dress oh my god, it's just so pretty. I'm obsessed with chocolate brown at the minute (as you may know) and so this dress with the cut out detail and cross over straps is a dream come true. It's also a really nice length and I wore it with my favourite black heels (new look) and black 'tres chic' clutch bag (miss selfridge). I worried I wouldn't manage the whole night but it was my office Christmas party and it was a free bar and one of my most important rules is not to turn down a free drink. Besides, it would've been rude not to.
I was certain I would be dead by Saturday but I actually managed to wake up pretty early to pack and then go and catch a train to Sheffield for one of my best friend's 20th birthdays! I wore a black a-line skirt (new look), black thigh high boots (also new look) and black striped top (oh look at that, new look again) with my current favourite mauve coat (missguided) for a full day of shopping at Meadowhall. Although the only thing any of us actually ended up buying was alcohol - does that reflect badly on us? We had fun doing some cheesy photo booth snaps though (complete with wind machine) and then stopped for an amazing dinner and happy hour cocktails at Las Iguanas.
I personally like to be fashionably late to most things (like half an hour maybe) but the rest of my friends take it to a whole new level. They're always at least an hour late, normally two so when I have pre drinks or something at mine, I always say an hour earlier than I actually want them to be there so then they'll basically be there on time. So we had a table booked at a bar and we literally had to rush like crazy to be ready on time - we even managed to be late for the taxi that we had ordered and he drove off and we had to ring another one! But we managed to get there on time in the end - Katie was complete with cute birthday badges! I was wearing my favourite colour YET again in the form of this khaki dress with buckle detail from Rare London. I do love it but if you're planning on buying it then just beware that it is VERY short - getting out of the taxi and staying decent at the same time was not an easy task. We literally had the most amazing night though, we just didn't stop laughing. Needless to say that when I got home on Sunday, I pretty much just passed out straight away. I still haven't caught up on my sleep properly though; I nearly fell asleep on the shoulder of the man next to me on the bus earlier. If you're him and you're reading this then I am very very sorry.
