Friday is the new black
Oh the irony. A holiday that originated in America (obvs), that is dedicated to frenzied bargain shopping and bankrupting yourself in order to save the most money possible, which takes place the very day after a holiday that is all about being thankful for what you have. And because it's 4 days (seemingly 2 weeks this year because everyone started ridiculously early) that are purely about shopping, I love it - naturally. So I thought that I'd dress for the occasion of Black Friday by wearing all black; which is not actually something I do very often. I wore black high waisted jeans with my favourite slogan jumper; this 'j'adore' number was much loved through last winter and it's time to love it all over again. I always think that gilets and sleeveless jackets look so chic and lovely but they're so impractical! I've had this like 2 years and I've probably worn it 3 times. If you wear it in autumn, it's too hot for fur and if you wait until winter then it's too cold for no sleeves. But then again, I never have been one for practicality. It was perfect for today though; because I knew I'd be rushing around the shops and then spending the day in my nice toasty office, I didn't have to worry about the weather. I finished the look with my black Olivia Burton watch and favourite Valentino dupe heels (although it ended raining and I've discovered that they really don't like rain). If you're thinking that the photos look a bit dark and grainy, that's because I left my house super early to start shopping and so it was only just getting light when I had to take the photos. Remind me again how anyone could prefer Winter to Summer?
If it was an option then I would've totally avoided physical shops today to make my life easier but I had a load of Boots coupons for a shit ton of advantage card points (if you don't have an advantage card then seriously, go and get one!) and you can't use them online. Lucky for me, the shops were pretty quiet at 8am and so I grabbed myself some bargains - which sadly weren't for me (*cries*). I've been really unorganised this year and up until today, I hadn't bought a single Christmas present (very unlike me) so all my Black Friday buys were presents. In fact I don't think I've ever done so much shopping in one day with so little of it being for me?! I got my mum and grandma's presents in Boots and because the universe loves me, I got a free No7 gift set when I bought 2 other No7 products. It's a really nice one too; it has a mascara, a cream blush, an eyeshadow and an eyeshadow brush. Oh and I also bought myself some false lashes to push the price up in order to use my vouchers. Hashtag savvy shopper. Then, because I'm not a masochist, I did the rest of my shopping online. I don't think I paid full price for a single thing all day, I spent £500 across 11 different retailers, my email inbox is now overflowing with 'thank you for your order' emails and I managed to buy every single person's Christmas presents, plus one of my best friends' birthday presents plus a few (more than a few) bits for myself because you know, I'm not a totally changed woman and shopping is hardwired into my DNA. Not bad for a days work.

This is a new section that I've decided to add to my blog posts so that you can easily click through to everything that I'm wearing. But because I often fall back in love with things after owning them for ages, I'll sometimes have to link similiar items rather than the exact one - but I'll do my best! Like for example, I couldn't find a j'adore jumper ANYWHERE so I've picked a different slogan jumper that I also love.
