Eye have an obsession
I'm not the kind of girl who would happily spend £35 on my every day foundation or pay £50 for a contouring palette, but eyeshadow palettes are my kryptonite. I just can't resist! And I managed to add TWO more to my collection in one week. Just look how pretty they are though!
I think the lighting must've been weird for these photos because my skin looks grey like something from a zombie movie. The double exposure palette by Smashbox is one that I've lusted after for like a year but I just never took the plunge and actually bought it - until now. I think it's like 10 million times nicer than the full exposure palette, which was the version before it and I love that it has a nice mix of neutrals and colours (plus burgundy toned shades are my faves and it's got plenty). The shades aren't named on the palette (which is annoying) but I think they are listed on the packaging somewhere but for this little tester eye makeup look, I used the first 2 colours on the left from the top row and then shades 2 and 3 from the left on the bottom row. They're quite nice quality shadows; they go on easily and blend quite well and apparently they can be used wet and they have a different effect so I'm interested to see how that turns out.
Despite all the hype around the Naked palettes, I actually think the Lorac palettes are about a million times nicer. If they were readily available in the UK in the same way, then I reckon they would be more popular. I was already so in love with my Lorac 1 and Lorac 2 and then I saw this little beauty; the Lorac Unzipped. It's a smaller palette with 10 shades instead of 16 and you know how I said I love burgundy shades? Well this palette is like a dream to me! So many pinks, burgundy's and browns with mostly shimmer shades and a few mattes thrown in. Lorac shadows are so nice to apply they're so soft and buttery and blend perfectly. For this little tester look, I used Unbelievable, Unattainable, Untamed, Unbridled and Undercover (I love that the names have a theme). I think with the mix of red and gold, it's also a really nice festive palette so it might be one to put on your Christmas list or to buy as a gift for a friend (who you really like).
