True or false...
When it comes to lashes, false are always better. I'm not the kind of person who could ever be bothered to wear them every day but I always wear lashes for a night out or nice dinner. And as a way to break up all the OOTD posts I've been writing recently, I thought I'd sum up some of my favourite ever false lashes. All these lashes are like £5-£6 too so they're really affordable! Although I don't know how helpful this post will be; the two hardest things ever to buy without trying-before-you-buying are lipstick and false lashes. Because all of them look so different from person to person and it's definitely a case of trial and error. I have quite small eyes which are halfway between round and almond and I have a tendency to wear dark eyeshadow so I shop for lashes that are thick and quite long but the most key part is they have to be the same length all the way along (if I try wearing ones that go longer in the outer corners then they just look really weird). These Katy Perry 'Banging Beauty' ones by Eylure are probably my all-time favourites (sorry the lashes look kind of gross in the photos but they've all been trialed at this point so none of them are brand new). These are a great trusty pair of lashes and I'm super sad that they've been discontinued now at Boots and most other places so I have to hunt for them on random websites.
I go against pretty much every "rule" when it comes to fake eyelashes; I apply them with my fingers not with tweezers, I only wait like 10 seconds rather 30+ or until the glue goes tacky, and I curl my eyelashes before applying but I don't put on mascara like everyone says you should. However, this pair of 159's by Eylure do actually look better worn with mascara. They're lovely and feathery and not too long so they make a nice day time eyelash, or they're great for last-minute plans when you're in a hurry because they look really nice applied over the makeup you already have on.
These are my current favourites and the style that I've been wearing on most of my recent nights out. I don't purposely only shop for Eylure lashes but they just seem to be the ones that look the nicest and I know that I can trust the glue to stay put all day and night. I originally thought these 143's would be too long and wouldn't suit me but I was pleasantly surprised (although they are super long and touch my eyebrows when I open my eyes wide). They're a nice mix of looking feathery and looking perfectly straight and arranged and they look best worn with black eyeliner in my waterline. They also go on perfect pretty much every time which is a must because as every girl knows, your fake eyelashes going wrong is a total nightmare.
