Lace up: desk to drunk to dinner
As far as themes go, you know I have a knack for them. But this one was actually by accident! But it does mean that they all grouped together nicely for just the one blogpost, which works for me because I've been slacking with my blog lately (sorry but the new job has been taking up a lot of time over the last week - not to mention I've been really tired!). I wore this outfit for work last week; my new office is still fairly laid back regarding work attire, noone dresses super smart or officey. So I went with black jeans (topshop) which are so faded they're practically grey (I desperately need new ones) and this new lace up blouse that I got in my most recent missguided haul. As you know, lace up anything-and-everything is my latest obsession and I just love the neutral peachy colour of this top. I also love the scallop edge detailing around the collar although I think it has a design fault because the sleeve cuffs have buttons but no button holes so the sleeves kind of flap around which is annoying. It is the perfect colour though to match a pair of my all-time favourite shoes (new look), which I also have in black. I finished my outfit with a silver watch and Whirl lipstick which is a new addition to my collection and you can read about my thoughts on that and my other new one in my next blogpost!
Another new one in my wardrobe, this lace-up bodysuit was also from missguided and is literally the comfiest thing ever. It's a ribbed fabric (so comfy) and I'm really liking these fitted long sleeved tops at the minute; I think they'll be great for going out as we go into A/W. To go out on saturday night (yes this blogpost is a tad late okay) I wore it with these black and white printed skorts which I've had for ages now but barely ever wear for some weird reason. It's awkward to match things with body suits though because if you wear anything too tight then the line of the bodysuit will show through and it'll look like you're just wearing really big bridget-jones-style knickers. Attractive. I finished my outfit with black boots (new look), black bag (also new look), loads of gold rings and Retro lipstick, which is my current favourite seeing as Twig doesn't suit me at the minute because I'm too tanned for it.
Then after staying at one of my best friend Sian's new uni flat (cue a house warming party right?), I made my way home feeling very hungover. I didn't calculate my getting-ready-time very well though because I didn't leave myself enough time to dry AND straighten my hair so I plaited it (my go-to holiday hairstyle) and left it at that. I wore this cute brownish mauve coloured swing dress with a high neck (missguided) and varied the lace up theme by going with lace up shoes rather than top. These public desire sandals have been my favourites through summer so I'm going to have to figure out how to carry them through to autumn. I finished my outfit with smokey matte brown eyes and Verve lipstick, which is a really nice dark nude with a purple undertone. Even though I didn't feel great, we had a really lovely meal at Bella Italia and actually all those carbs probably made me feel a bit better!
