Giving some new shades a whirl
It's that time again! I seem to be buying new lipsticks very regularly now; both my lipstick holders are almost full and I don't physically have room for another one so I don't know what I'll do once I've filled them. My two latest buys from MAC were both ones that I've wanted for ages and here's what I think about them...
Brave very narrowly lost out when I chose to buy Twig instead and then since then, there's always been another shade I wanted more. But I finally got around to buying it and it's just as nice as I hoped. It's a really nice pink without being too stark or too bright or too barbie. I think it's a little too pale for me right now but as I lose my tan as we go into A/W I think it'll be lovely. It's a satin shade (of course); they're my favourites as you probably know by now. I just think they give your lips the nicest finish and they stay put all day too.
I've wanted the whirl lip liner for ages but it was always out of stock when I looked. Maybe it was fate because then MAC brought it out in a lipstick instead and I definitely prefer lipsticks over lip liners (I rarely use the two together, I just use one or the other all over my lips because I choose them purely for the colour). It's a much cooler, darker shade than you would've thought by looking at it (or maybe that's just because of my skin tone); it's a really dark, almost grey, dusky pink - or 'dirty rose' as described on the website. This one is a matte finish but it's not an overly drying matte like Ruby woo and it does last literally forever!
